“Dun expect too much.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

Hotel location is just 15-20 mins drive which is good. As a new hotel apartment, it has potential of being great. At this moment, it's still Inadequate. Example, it has currently only 5 hair dryer in the hotel and for the first time, we had to time share... The air dryers every night. Haha.. The pool facilities are acceptable but as it is close to other outdoor activities, sand and small pebbles remain around the pool. This makes it uncomfortable if u go bare footed.

Stayed for one night on 9th Aug. We knew this place was far from town, but the other decent places that we were considering were fully booked due to the long public holiday.

We arrived earlier than planned, and inquire if we could have our room. It was understandable if the room wasn't ready, but the female receptionist's reply was fairly robotic and not friendly. When asked when we could check in, her reply was "I cannot promise you what time your room will be ready." What??!

In any case, we headed to the town center for lunch and shopping. Studio room 613 was assigned to us when we returned at 10pm. First impression the room was quite ok in terms of cleanliness. That is probably because the property is still relatively new. However the room was was quite dim even when all the lights were turned on.

Thankfully both aircons and the ceiling fan worked. In fact it got rather cold in the night. The washroom was big but very basic. And the water pressure was not as strong. Oddly, there is a wood paneled window in the bathroom that opened up into the bedroom.

Just as one of the earlier reviewer said, we tried to contact front office but no one answered the calls. There was no hair dryer in our room or slippers. When the receptionist said wifi would be a bit weak in our room, she was not truthful. Wifi signal was non-existence at level 6. If you drive, there is ample parking. There is a guard during the daytime whose main job seems to be ensuring that cars do not clog up the drop-off point. However, I did not spot the guard on duty in the night.

Overall it was a average stay with nothing exceptional to mention. I am unlikely to return if given a choice though.

Spent a night for a short festive break with friends in a 2 bedroom apartment. The rooms are OK for the price you pay, so don't expect much. We stayed at the 6th floor apartment. It was facing the new block under construction.

The Pros:

- Flat screen TV with only a few sattelite TV channels but should be adequate if short stay
- Bathrooms are spacious and nice shower
- Efficient staff
- Clean
- Big pool with big fun slides at the water park

The Cons:

- The apartments are poorly lit. Couldn't do much at night indoors.
- No in-room wifi.
- The pillows are too soft; you might get stiff neck after waking up.
- Construction next door
- No life guards at water park
- Water park crowded during school holidays, so pool water becomes murky
- No enforcement of the dress code at water park; so you can see people going in the pool in headscarves, t-shirts and even jeans.
- Some lights in the apartments won't work no matter what the electrician tries to do, maybe due to bad electrical wiring during construction.

Only take the breakfast package if you didn't drive to the hotel. There are so many good restaurants in Malacca town, it'll be a waste if you didn't try them out. The l hotel cafeteria can be overcrowded during school holidays.

In conclusion, if you are going only for a short stay (1 to 2 nights max), 3 star, medium priced hotel, then this place would be OK. A lot of room for improvement though. Maybe they need to hire a new management team, because this hotel have so much potential if managed properly.

Room Tip: Try to come in larger groups, if possible, and take the 3 bedroom apartments. They are much larger a...

Stayed here for 3 nights in a two bedroom apt, with an extra bed. Extra bed wasn't there when we arrived but was brought up when we asked. Hotel / resort is still in the process of being built: guests stay in one completed lock whilst work continues on the neighbouring one, being finished off, and two further ones (sites still being prepared). On the plus side, the water park was great and we pretty much had it to ourselves each day. However, the pool cafe isn't open so you can't get a drink by the pool, the pool changing rooms / toilets were always locked and there weren't always towels. Spa isn't open yet. Buffet dinner in the restaurant was good. Bathrooms smelt a bit of drains. Hotel was strangely quiet despite bus loads of Chinese arriving late each evening and then leaving early in the morning. Took about 30 mins to drive down into central Melaka which was good. Also visited the Butterfly and Reptile Farm which was good.

RESORT (3 Bedroom Apartment)
Quite new resort and is quite comfortable, room is quite clean and with basic facilities like TV,Coffee,Tea.Mineral,Kettle,Fridge etc. Will still see some renovation going on but is fine since there is no sound & air polution.
** Aircond is not cold enough and quite hot sometimes.
** There is a few facilities is not workable like fan and some lighting.
** We have waited until no reply about a request for Hair Dryer, and no person pick up when we tried to call for room service.
** Wifi only available at Lobby area.
** Facilitles like spa is still under renovation, limited service available at the moment.

THEME PARK
Basic water park which can spend with it if you have extra time for your trip. Not much facilities and simple.
** There is no Live Guard provided.

Hope hotel could improve your service although you have full occupancy and might caused missed out, since every guest is important and might bring you a come back business if we deserve well.

We booked a three bedroom for the weekend and having read past reviews, I loaded up on food, snack and drinks since the resort is in the middle of nowhere. Toiletries are definitely minimal - one shower cap, soap bars that don't lather, a packet cotton buds and a sanitary bag. The resort supplies a dispenser with 2-in-1 shampoo cum soap which does smell good and does the job. Kitchen contains a fridge, kettle and tea and coffee, six free bottles of mineral water and two cups (for a 3 bedroom, there has to be at least 6 guests, plus they don't supply washing liquid?) What's not listed here, please plan to bring your own.

Given that most people come to stay for their water park, it was surprising that there were no drying racks anywhere to be found. Wet clothing is not allowed to be hung at the balcony but at least provide some strings in the toilets? Floor mats were limited so somehow although it was an apartment, I felt it was under furnished even though I have to say the furniture and lighting are still new and functioning well. Cleanliness is OK, if you are not fussy. I found hair stuck on the chair in front of the dressing table and a layer of dust on the TV console when the sun shone in during the morning.

Water park has great slides for kids aged 5 and above. The currents are very strong for the younger ones and where waters are still, it was freezing (at least for the two days we were in the pool). The pool isn't the safest, especially everywhere was mostly wet. No rubber mats and staircases were plain tiles. True enough, our son fell and cut his chin on the last day. He also slipped and cut his leg when he tried to get out of the pool. Good thing that the Pantai hospital was only ten minutes away, since it was a Sunday and no clinics were open. Another disappointment was there were limited lounging areas. No lounge chairs but there were benches around for adults to sit. Maybe they assume all adults who chose not to swim, will want to sit upright to watch the kids in the pool and hence does not offer beach beds for one to laze with a book and take a short nap/tan.

We drove and were glad we did because we saw guests hanging around waiting for shuttles or taxis. Ride to town is about 20 minutes and it is more worthwhile for your trip if you can go out for meals and try the great food around Melaka!
