“For First Timer Malacca Heritage Centre visitors”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

For 1st timer visit to Malacca please book your hotel before you go, (especially
during the weekend or school holidays) or else you may end up staying far away from the centre.
Please look up for Malacca history and heritage in your computer web site before you step into this city. You need to understand the history of this beautiful city and then you will feel the fun of visiting them.
Food and drink around this centre is good and cheap compare with JB and KL. During the evening hours you may stroll around the old shops houses around the river side and look up for long queue food stalls. They serve good, cheap and tasty food.
Shopping:Just like other big cities In Malaysia, nothing much to offer. But some local made shoes and handy crafts items look quite unique and cheap.
It is safe to walk around during late night. Locals are friendly and helpful if your approaching manner is gentle.

“Historic multi-cultural heritage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

I used to listen to stories of the galleon trades in my Asian history classes and coming to this place gave me such a thrill to experience the traces of these stories. I have been to this place twice and in my last visit in April 2012, I witnessed the Holy Week commemoration of the Christian community in this predominantly Islamic city. Such an example of a peaceful integration of different faiths. Rightfully esteemed to be a world heritage due to its living multi-cultural influences of the East and the West.

“Quick tour in Malacca Malaysia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

The quickest and most affordable option for a Malacca Heriage Centre tour is by their Rickshaw...a tri-bike with sounds, flowers and colorful designs. haggle for a 40RM one-hour trip. One rickshaw is good for 2 pax. From Melaka Central, you may take Bus 17 to the Heritage Centre for about 2RM per person. Or if you are a group of 4, you may opt to take a cab - cheaper and faster. Remember that traffic was terrible especially at 4pm onwards. So if you need to catch a bus at Melaka Sentral, take a cab and not the bus!

Melaka is best experienced on weekend nights because they have night markets. But be sure to visit this place on non-ramadan season, so they have more activities and night markets to see.

souvenirs are cheaper at the jonker street....

it is also nice to bring home a sketch of the place. We bought one for 50RM. the malaysian girl was really good at sketching near the Malaka river.

look for maps of melaka at the central station. you can eat at a restaurant and ask for maps.

Some people in melaka are good in Filipino. great people!

“A long ride from kuala lumpur”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013 via mobile

We did enjoy roaming the city, the colorful accents with the flowered tuk tuks and well maintained buildings but in retrospect I would consider this as a stopping point on the way to Singapore. Other then the ruins of the Portuguese church not much to do. There was a river tour but that did not appear to be anything but a tourist trap

“Hearty Heritage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

Beautiful place with very neatly maintained its old heritage. We had a very informative and nice river ride showing us the entire city from center to the Malacca Bay. It is a World Heritage city and so the houses, ship and the ruins are preserved to speak for it. Restaurants serve authentic and sumptuous Chinese and Malaysian food. And there is Dodol, the local sweet stuff (try a little). The Sky ride was also very delightful giving us panoramic view of entire Malacca.
