Will give this hotel 5 stars for
- Location (link bridge to both BIG Shopping Centres), about 10 mins leisure walk to Jonker Street.
- Clean room, big bathroom and nice equipped gym

However, minus points
- Wifi (we could not connect at all on the 1st day!)
- When we checked in, the staff was super quick but too professional. Explained things in a very fast manner and no smile at all.
- Lift was slow ...

Hatten needs to improve a bit more and it will be a great hotel which i gladly go back to.

check in on 11 Aug 2013, the hotel is located right smack in town..just a walk way to Dataran Pahlawan n Mahkota Parade. traffic to go there was crazy. once arrived, we went straight to the parking lot shared with hatten square malls, which was a bit difficult, because of hotel guest n shoppers are using the same parking lot. luckily they have a lot of floors, we had to park at the 8th floor, since the rest are full. soon we arrive at the hotel lobby...CRAZY crowd..it was so crowded, this is the first time for me to see a hotel lobby was like a pasar malam or a bus station. but thank God that the service was fast, eventhough there was a long queue, the receptionist was very polite and nice, check in was smooth. I took the deluxe suite, which was quite big for a family of 3. i really like the design, very different and modern. they have like a small tv room which was very comfortable and also u can have your privacy (glass door to separate beds n the tv room) amazing simple design..after we had our rest, i went across to dataran pahlawan just opposite the hotel, u can use the bridge for safety. overall i really like this hotel, the price is also reasonable. everything is soo near, shops, food stalls entertainment. the pool is also nice..i like it..hehe

Stayed for 3 nights in Aug 2013. The location was good and near to shopping centers. Bed was comfortable. But hotel was very crowded during to holiday and weekend period. Wifi in room was very slow and it was not working on one of the day. We had booked 2 rooms. Upon check in, one room was without floor mat and hair dryer. The other room was without iron and board. The lifts were not enough to handle large crowd. Taking a lift to the breakfast floor was a bad experience. Not to mention on the day we had to check out; we had to wait for 20 mins to get down to lobby. Four of us had to divide ourselves into 3 different lifts separately. We even had to take the lift to go up higher suite levels in order to get into the lift. Lift stopped at every suite floor, as everyone was waiting to take lift down for breakfast or lobby area.

Check in was a breeze, staff remain relatively calm n attentive despite the crowd . Rooms were nice and got a sea view as requested. Breakfast was ok, but most items are served everyday, no change! If only we could get the option not to have breakfast with the room, I think it can ease up the crowd in the restuarant . The most excruciating part was the lifts. Though there are a total of eight lifts, you can expect to wait up to 15 mins for a lift with space to take you . Really hope something could be done and I will probably give two thumbs up.

Bravo to the effort in designing the hotel interiors.. To a point when they make such an effort in telling guests not to put anything on their precious centrepiece table (I mean someone actually walked up to us and told us to remove the items). This was during our check-in, where we had to wait for an hour to check in and stood the entire time because there were not enough seats! Any harm in placing our very light bags on the table. Some of us are just very particular about cleanliness..
We checked-in at 4.30pm. When it finally got to our turn, it was 5.30pm. We booked and paid for 4 rooms but only 2 rooms were ready.. And I thought usual check-in hours was supposed to be 2pm.. At most 3pm..? Best thing was, the staff who checked us in didn't seem very apologetic about this. He looked overworked. As probably is the case with the housekeeping staff as they were housekeeping until 7.30pm (and this is not turn down service, mind you..).
When we eventually got all 4 rooms, it was 6.30pm!
The rooms are ok.. Condition is still rather new but really nothing to shout about.
The pool is a total disappointment. It is far from what they try to represent on their website. Hoards of people and chaotic. Nothing like the chilled-out and relaxing ambience they portray.
Car parking validation failed. Despite getting out tickets validated by concierge, upon exit the machine didn't recognise the validation.
I suppose it's to their advantage that this hotel is quite centrally located but even with that, I wouldn't come back.
Having said that, the housekeeping, bell boys and room service staff all done good. I think that the problem with this hotel is the management.. Not the staff. It's just too bad that this is the case.

We stayed for one night and was given the connecting room we requested. We also asked for an extra bed which was sent to our rooms promptly.

Plus:
- location. Jonker Walk, St Paul's hill and 3 shopping malls are within walking distance.
- rooms are clean and cosy
- good breakfast spread
- spa services are reasonably priced.

Minus
- wifi is very weak in the room, at least 5 of our devices failed to detect a connection - blackberry and iPhone in particular
- lifts are quite slow to arrive
- construction around the hotel can make crossing roads a challenged

Advices:
- try requesting for a room with sea view
- try the Thai spa diagonally across (Scents and Senses) the hotel, the massages are inexpensive and the masseurs' skills are fantastic! Do remember to book earlY. AVOID the other massage spa outlet along the same row (next to a convenience store) I think it is call Topic - the masseurs really hard sell and other hidden add ons, really can't have a peace of mind!

- try chicken rice ball. You will see the blue sign opposite star bucks that points to the store.

- try the peranakan restaurant opposite the Thai massage spa outlet

- walk down to the heritage sites, climb up the St Paul's Hill

- Jonker Walk, be prepared to be pushed around

- the other outlet of famous super long queue Nadeje is located on the left of the hotel, cross 2 big car park (the 2nd car park being a rather makeshift one) until you see UOB bank branch. It is located along the shop houses 1 block before UOB. Be prepared for some serious queuing!!!!
