“Awesome Hotel i even stay before”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

i had book this hotel when early ago, before we come, we put hope a lot because we feel this hotel maybe will give a wonderful holiday to me. Finally, the day has come which was 20th october 2012, i were travel by my litter perodua viva car from ipoh to this destination,- Melaka . This date is quit important to me and my couple cause this date is our 2nd anniversary, then we arrrived to this hotel by 1something, and i go to check in, the service there is nice, front office assistant is friendly, and we were been threat like go back home, we been serve a cup of sorbet with a leave by writing" welcome home and my name", by the way waiting for process the check in, we been serve a 5 minutes free massage.....wau, is wondeful.......

After that, we go to our room 322, a very big room, with balcony and a big bathroom. The aminities there is nice and my partner happy cause hotel serve her milk soap and soap salt for her bath. The room also supply weather report forecasting by few days for the traveler, and also some nyonya kuih for us to refresh our tiredness.

Beside that, hotel provides a library for the guest who like to reading or relax, inside also provides 2 nos of desktop computer, and coffee machine, and also some tea, and various type of tea.

For the breakfast, we had been serve a semi buffet breakfast at the next day morning. and the food is tasty and nice. service staff also friendly and nice.

Conclusion, i will come back again and recommended to all of my friend.

I got upgraded to Studio Suite by the manager which was a pleasant surprise.
Really nice room with the big bath tub and great bath essentials.
The king size bed is another plus with excellent customer service.

My first visit to Melaka, certainly not my last. Great first impression arriving at Casa Del Rio, Warm welcome by the very friendly staff, check in was very smooth and quick, the room was very nice, clean and comfortable (good 5 star standard), good choice of restaurants and food very high standard, well cooked and beautifully presented. My stay was most enjoyable and would highly recommend anyone going to Melaka, the town itself is fascinating, teaming with such diverse history and culture.

It doesn't get any better than this in Melaka...
I'm writing this review at the hotel while overseeing my 2 girls swimming at the rooftop pool. The scenery is overlooking the Melaka river with the river cruise boats passing by. Every now and again you get waves from the river cruise passengers which is nice.

Located strategically at the most visited part of the city, Casa Del Rio is located near historical sites like the A Formosa fort, Jongker street (now a popular tourist street mall amongst heritage buildings) and museums. It is only short walk to all these attractions.

The room that we were staying in oversees the river as most rooms if not all will have that view too or part of it. The room is spacious and can even fit in 2 extra beds. One thing that strikes you most about the room is how well its decorated and furnished. Even the bathroom is huge with a big tub that you can soak in.

Only thing about this place that is not up to mark as far as i am concerned is the food. The food is kind of average but considering that Jongker street is stones throw away, food will never be a problem if you are in Melaka.

Although relatively new the staff and service were excellent. It is in an ideal location to explore the facinating and historic streets. The weekend night market is great entertainment with good hawker food. Tips - the hotel does not change money but this is easily done at the huge shopping malls on the other side of the river about 15 min. walk or 15 ringit cab ride. Shopping is good and cheaper than KL. The steamboat offered in the bar is fantastic although we were a little disappointed with breakfast but there are plenty of places to eat on the streets.

Room Tip: ask for rooms with a river view - the air conditioning in our room was very noisy but the rooms them...

Casa Del Rio was all it was described as and more. Located right in the middle of Melaka and the Heritage area it was perfect. With my problems walking and my wife’s fear of heights, it was hard to find something in Asia that was below 10 floors due to the high rise trend for hundreds of rooms. There are so many positives. There are only 3 floors with elevator, the pool is on the roof and over looks the plaza across the river where they run river tours and have live music to enjoy. China town is literally 5 minutes walk with all it’s shops, stalls, restaurants. The Spanish and Dutch areas are a few minutes further away but no more than 5 minutes. The rickshaws are all over the place and signs are very clear that the rate is 40MYR per hour and a number to call if you have problems, we hired 2 instead of crowding into one and it was perfect, one had better English and the other would ride next to the other when he was speaking.

Back to Casa Del Rio, the staff where their best asset. They were obviously very proud of the hotel and could not do enough to help. Evening turndown was lovey as they would leave a scented book mark and light the candle on the balcony. One night they had a movie in the pool. They were also very proud of their town and would suggest places to go, know how to get there and advice on how to get most out of the day.
The rooms are huge, entry, dressing area /wardrobe area, Bathroom with spa and separate shower, big sink/makeup area and then there was the large bedroom with chairs and desk with internet access. The restaurant was perfect, great service and food was great.

We visit Malacca once a year to enjoy Nyonya cuisine and absorb the Peranakan culture. On this trip we chose to stay at Casa del Rio which has officially open last April.
Our experience was good and the service staff were helpful.
It is worth mentioning that the room was spacious and the shower amenities were novel.
The quality, quantity and taste of a la carte orders has plenty of room for improvement as well as the spread for breakfast.
