“Excellent service, great place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We booked for 3D2N for a Grand Deluxe Room. The room was very clean, spacious and well decorated for that "home" feeling. The hotel has its own carpark so no problem leaving our car there throughout the stay. The hotel exterior may looked old but we were surprised how nice it is when we stepped inside.

Prior to our arrival we had been communicating through emails for certain requests and clarifications. Their replies were quite prompt and clear, and additional steps were taken to ensure everything was in place as we requested. I have to specially mention one staff named Amy. Her services were excellent! She even volunteered to help us ordered a customized birthday cake 1 week before we arrive, collected the cake on our behalf, had even decorated the room with balloons. The balloons were totally unexpected. On one night when it rained and we were pondering whether to go Jonker Street for dinner, Amy volunteered to get us KFC for us as there's no KFC delivery over there. (Well we had sudden cravings for KFC at that point of time). We turned down her kindness as we were embarrassed by her over the world services!

The location was great, right at one end of Jonker Walk itself. Easy access to the night markets every night, tasting the local food everyday. Hard Rock Shop was also at the other end corner, we made an effort to buy some Hard Rock tees there. We even walked to Mahkota Parade, which was surprising short distance from Jonker Street, maybe 10-15mins walk. It didn't looked as far as the map seems at all.

Unlike some reviews we read earlier, we had no problem with noises from upstairs or outside. the room itself had a huge Samsung LED TV (can't remember the size.... almost 40"??). This the biggest TV in a hotel room I have came across in my Malaysia holidays, great feeling lazing on the bed watching shows.

There's free WIFI in the room, moderate signal strength I must say, only strong near the window but not so good as we moved away further near the beds.

It rained everyday during our stay, and the hotel had complimentary umbrellas bearing their hotel name for hotel guests. Never had to worry about the weather when we walked around.

Additional compliment to other staff such as Jasmine and the male staff whom I didn't get their names. You guys were excellent!

Will definitely come back again!

We arrived hungry, late night, mid week, after a full day traveling and were greeted by reception staff who soon had us checked in, lugged our bags upstairs for us and took us across the road to the nearest open restaurant. This friendly, helpful assistance was a mark of our stay - every time we entered the lobby we were greeted by name, advice about landmarks was freely and happily given, tickets were booked for us and taxis obtained when we were leaving.

The building was old and did not have a lift - the stairs being the only possible problem one might encounter. The flights were quite steep for me so the handrail was appreciated.

Our room was well equipped, free wifi, desk, tea and coffee, clothes hangers, fluffy towels morning newspaper, water bottles - everything needed was there. Sleeping was excellent in the comfy bed. The bathroom had a huge shower and bath, never ending hot water,

After we had cooled the room with the aircon we didn't need to use it again as the fan and really high ceilings kept us as cool as we needed.

Breakfast was not included in our room rate but was available at the cafe on the street. You can walk through the reception area to it if you don't want to go outside. There are lots of eating places along Jonker Street but be aware that many don't seem to open before 10am.

There was so much to see and do in Melaka that we will return and will definitely stay again at Jonker Boutique Hotel.

Room Tip: Level One rooms are best if you have a problem with stairs - can't avoid them though.

Booked this hotel from looking through TripAdvisor. Absolutely love the place for the convenient location and nice interior decor. Jonker street & the night market is a door step away. Melaka's historical area is also within 15mins walking distance.
Although the hotel room price is higher on a weekend/public holidays, I still highly recommend it for being right at the heart of Melaka's tourist enclave. The hotel's own enclosed parking area means you park at check-in and forget the car as you start exploring on foot. You'll appreciate this when you see how crazy the traffic in the surrounding area can get.
Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. They offered to carry our bags to the room since the stairways are steep and narrow. Absolutely love this place!
Jonker Street tips: Try chicken rice ball at Hoe Kee, have a night cap at Geographer cafe, explore the weekend night market for great bargains, get pineapple tarts home for family & friends.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the carpark muffled out the karaoke stage performance on the weekends. No elevator; pa...

This hotel is housed in a refubished old building but with furnishing comparable to 5-star hotel and conveniently located on Jonker St. We could not ask for more.
The family room is very spaces, comes with long bath and separate rain shower.

The reception is also helpful with local information. The hotel provides free private parking space that is in fenced up compound.

Do note that the place can be noisy for weekend evening. There is a stage for local performance right in front of the hotel.

My family had our first trip abroad together to Malacca over the weekend, and we had a wonderful time staying at Jonker Boutique Hotel!

This is definitely a great choice if you're looking for a place that is easily accessible and convenient. Situated right smack in the middle of Jonker Street, food and shopping was readily available from morning till late night.

The team at Jonker Boutique Hotel was very warm and friendly. Right from the beginning when I emailed them for a quotation, a quick response was received and all further queries were promptly addressed. During our stay, recommendations on good food places, arrangement of transport and special requests were all entertained.

Once again, a big thanks to the lovely team on behalf of my family for all your kind assistance and hospitality during our short stay with you over the weekend. We had a very enjoyable time and will certainly choose your hotel again as our preferred choice for future visits to Malacca!

If you are looking for something different, this is the hotel to consider. They renovated the old shophouses into a cosy, modern boutique hotel. The Location is great, just next to the Jonker night market. They have plenty of parking space, which is very convenient especially for those who are not familiar with Melaka's coupon parking system. The stairs are abit narrow but this is expected for a boutique hotel. Definitely would stay at this gotel again.
