“Nice little restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2012

This restaurant serves Portuguese seafood, we ordered butter prawns, which coincidentally tasted and looked alot like cereal prawn. when checked with the staff we were told that they are indeed butter prawn. not too sure if we were taken for a ride. we also ordered chili crab as well as tofu egg. the food was really delicious and not that spicy, and has lots of variety. however the orange juice we ordered tasted very blend and like some mixed drink. The restaurant also offers free wifi for customers, what a nice little touch.

“Best in Chinatown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2012

For some inscrutable reason, the Chinatown area of Melaka doesn’t have any great restaurants. There are multiple open-fronted ‘beer halls’ with rice-based snack meals, plenty of street vendors and numerous nefarious hawkers, but no restaurants 3 ½ star or better. There is however the 3 star ‘Eleven Bistro’.

Situated in a narrow lane (Jalan Hang Lekir) off Jonker Walk that is unbelievably even narrower than the Walk, Eleven Bistro has three adjoining front entrances and is (wait for it ! ) number 11 in the street. Following the local custom of not having any great Chinese restaurants in Chinatown, 11 Bistro serves Malacca Portuguese food. What is that you may ask. It is Portuguese Sambal Crabs (MR40). Portuguese style Fried Chicken Wings (MR10) Vinegar Lala (clams) (MR12), Portuguese style Fried Rice (MR8), home-made Vegetable Spring Rolls (MR8) and their signature dish Portuguese Special Curry Dable Chicken (MR15). And, it is all delicious !

As would be expected, Sambal crabs and Special Curry Dable chickens do have a bit of spice flavour, not to mention a slight ‘after-burn’. To counter this phenomenon, there is ice-cold Carlsberg (MR12), refreshing Coca-Cola (MR8) and Chivas Regal (MR18).

The tables are bare, but the staff are friendly, young and very attentive. There are several rooms, the one we choose was air-conditioned. All in all, the food was excellent, good value, and well presented. The drinks were cold, the venue clean and cool. I’d go back again, and give my recommendation to friends – and TA members.

“PERFECT TOUCH”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2012

I come to this restaurant with 4 of my friend... we just want to eat a little snack and have a chit chat together.. We come here on Monday, so the restaurant is not too crowded. The server was very helpful, we choose to sit inside, but the Air con was to cold (because the air con was very close to the table).

We order a fried rice, fried noodle, and toast bread.. The taste was nice, but not too special..

The best part is when we just want to take a picture together inside the resto, want of the server offered a help for us to take a picture with his camera. He said that the picture is for documentation, and a few minutes later he came back and bring a piece of photo that already being printed for us. I think it is a small things but matter..

we definitely will came back and try other signature dish

“Nice cozy place, good seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2012

Nice east meets the west bistro. Seafood is fresher than the others we had in melala. Good for both lunch and dinner. Reasonable price( relatively expensive than other Melaka restaurant, but considering the environment still worth it). About 40-50myr/head
