“Friendly, helpful and very clean!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2010

A really good place to stay, so cheap and a very good location. This guesthouse is owned by a young couple, they were very welcoming and happy to help. The rooms were clean, a fan is provided, air con is optiontial at a slightly higher cost.
I would totally recommend this place to travellers or those just on holiday. It caters for all!

This is a new guesthouse very close to the downtown area of Melaka. It is run by Lisan and Christophe who are wondeful hosts. We couldn't have asked for better people to help us with our stay in MAlaysia. Not only did they provide us with help for our stay in Melaka. They also help secure bus tickets for our next destination and provided tips on what to see. There is a nice central lobby area where we could meet new friends and the guesthouse was very clean. There are several restaurants nearby and a great morning foodcourt right across the street. Will definately stay here again.

Was surprised at how big this guesthouse is! The communal area is really huge and comfy! In addition, it is definitely a big plus that the whole place is super clean! Lisan and Christophe are amazing hosts who will give you very good directions to where you want to go. I planned to go out the night that I arrived but was feeling so comfortable in the that I only manage to step out of the guesthouse the next morning! It is situated 5 mins walk away from Chinatown which is perfect as it does not get too busy at night but is still near to where all the activities are! The only drawback is that the windows to the rooms are facing the communal area and may get a bit noisy. Will definitely stay in this place again the next time I visit Melaka!

I stayed for three nights in the ensuite, double (R50 per night). The noise didn't bother me but might some people. Common areas are welcoming and spacious, comfortable seating, free use of notebook PC (good value considering the internet cafe nearest to the hostel charges R5 per hour!), breakfast was basic (but you don't get breakfast in every hostel in Malaysia, so its a nice touch). Room was very clean, nice warm shower, good location in my opinion, only five/ten mins walk to either the malls, Stadthuys, Chinatown etc. The best feature, in my opinion, is the welcome you get from Christophe and his family. Always smiling, always helpful, very chilled out atmosphere. As ex-travellers themselves they know what you are looking for! Give it a go. As for the city, I thought it was the best place in Malaysia that I went to, big enough for facilities and attractions yet small enough to not stress you out!

I stayed with my 4 year old daughter for what was going to be 2 nights but we ended up staying for about 5. Lisan and Christoph are so very friendly and helpful and welcoming. The guesthouse very clean and comfortable. I was actually a bit sad to leave as I felt like I had been staying with friends! Christoph makes a fantstic pasta!!

Very new, to the point that there's still work in progress going on, but couldn't complain at the value of the accomodation or friendliness of Christophe and family. We had a double at the front - you absolutely need the aircon - and it was a little noisy but earplugs ensured sleep. Breakfast is free and fine, of the coffee and toast variety. Christophe has travelled widely in SE Asia and a good source of info.

Location is okay - technically in the Old Town, although a ten minute walk from Chinatown, which is really where the action is - but the price, I think, reflects this.

Very very friendly staff. A joy to stay at their house.

Bathrooms are shared, rooms not very big but the communal space is! I recommed this place to anyone visiting Melaka

(BTY it is not in the old town, but close (=; )

Thanks for you review. It was a delight to have you with us.

Btw : our guesthouse is situated in the UNESCO buffer zone and was recently gazetted as a heritage village
I suppose your referring to Chinatown, and for sure we're not in Chinatown, we are 500m from there.
