We spend half a day to cover three places - Coral Wonderland, Menara Taming Sari and Jonker Street.
We reached Menara Taming Sari at night, spend some time searching for car park and proceeded into the building to the ticketing counter to purchase the tickets. The tickets come together with a complimentary tetrapak drink and a muffin. There was a queue to the ride but the queue moved quite fast as there are ample seating in the ride.
The ride went up and we had a bird’s eye view of Malacca city. Since it was nighttime, we could see the streets and building being lighted up. We couldn’t see the sea but detected some small lights; probably emitted by the ships or boats. It turned a few rounds and hence, we also had a 360 degrees view of the city.
After alighting from the ride, we saw some stalls selling souvenirs, food and drinks. There were also many trishaws (also known as ‘beca’ in Malay) awaiting to ferry passengers or tourists for city tour. The trishaws were beautifully decorated and brightly lighted. Some decorations are based on certain themes such as 1Malaysia.
In my opinion, it will be best if one could take the ride at sunset where there will be sunset view which combines both day and night view. Probably we will visit next time during the day to experience a different view where the coastline will be visible.
