“Nice and quite beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Not too crowded, friendly people, clean beach, life guards, enough bars and restaurants, no party place. Silent disco on walking distance, very fun experience.

“Gorgeous place to go”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

We only went for 2 days and stayed in a beach hut. Little tip, spend a bit more than budget to get a nice place but no need to stay right on the beach front as you pay a lot more for this and the ones just off the beach are excellent and only 2 mins walk away from the beach. There are loads of beach huts so shop around and haggle!

Going to Butterfly Island is a must! You can only access it by boat and they market it as dolphin watching. You do see dolphins, but the water isn't terribly clear and they are solo dolphins and not in pods, so don't expect too much. But the beach is the highlight! Unspoiled, no restaurant or bar, 50 metres long, rocks to sit on. Awesome to chill out on for an hour or two.

Ideal for honeymooners as they set up tables on the beach with candles and put on performances with tightropes and light up the beach at night with lanterns. Pretty ideal for couples.

Also, there are parties so groups can go. Silent disco is on a tuesday.

“disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

Went with friends to this beach yesterday. I must say I was very disappointed as it was very busy and commercialised. We were stopped every few yards and although if you are looking for a particular item to buy this is the place I would go again for the beach itself.

“Relaxation..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

Palolem is one of the finest beaches in Goa.. If you are looking for staying at shacks at the beach front then I dont think you'd find a better place to stay than Palolem..
Since its down south in Goa (almost at the border with Karantaka) and some good 2-3 hours from the tourist center in North Goa... This is a boon since beacuse of all these factors there are less tourist hence the beach is more enjoyable..
Take a kayak ride (some 200 bucks for 2 people for an hour) to the nearby island.. If you can then try going to the island (its accessible when the tides are low in the morning).
Do some yoga, try out for some backwater ride (yep its there at Palolem) and more importantly relax..
