“Must try restaurant in South Goa!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

On the desolate stretch (off-season) outside the Lalit Hotel and Spa in Canacona, Goa, you’ll find surprise surprise a gem of a restaurant! It is simply done – natural earthen floors, soft yellow lighting, bamboo chairs, a small tucked-in bar. Yet look a little more carefully and you’ll see the distinctive handmade sea-shell candle-holders, the natural wall décor, a colorful scarve thrown in for color – the handiwork of a passionate expat chef, the founder of Sushi Café.

The menu, simple paper print-out pages, is anything but simple. You have sushi – the usual kinds as well as vegetarian, wood-fired pizzas, a range of fresh salads, hot soups, a large breakfast selection of continental, American and Indian breakfast choices, Indian main course dishes, a variety of exotic teas including chocolate tea and fresh homemade ice-cream!

And that’s not all, every item on Sushi café’s menu is priced reasonably, staff are warm and welcoming, service is quick, and each dish is presented aesthetically and with the right garnishing – oregano and chili flakes for pizza, wasabi and natural soy sauce for sushi.

So if you are in South Goa be sure to try out this awesome place. It takes courage to follow one’s heart, to give up a stable career and start a business. When we support well-run businesses started by passionate entrepreneurs we reward that courage, and in the process we make the world a better place.

“Best!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2014

Just brilliant
You can't imagine how great this tiny, unassuming sushi cafe is. The food was superb, incredible value and one of my best finds all year. The staff were eccentric and friendly - we were brought a few things that we didn't order but that they insisted we try! A lovely, refreshing, delicious experience all round.

“relaxing atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

We ate here twice dinner and breakfast no fault with either if I have a criticism it's that the coffee in the morning should have arrived before the food.
Excellent find, spoilt for choice, pasta pizza - sushi - which none of the party tried. Service was efficient, a relaxed atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Delicious food.

“Great Great Food served with loads of care”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

I had 3 meals at this place and its place worth trying everything.

Taste is just out of this world.

We tried wood oven pizza, sushi, hand-made ice-creams, paneer masala.

On the first day we were very tired and not so sure about the place so we ordered paneer masala and man it was one of the best I have ever tasted after my wify and mum's cooking of paneer.

Next day I made my wify try sushi first time ever as this was best place I could find and man they took care of that making sure everything is perfect for her

there wood oven pizzas are just fabulous and done with enough adjectives above.
