Arrived at the Mira at 1.30am and Roy's still serving drinks as usual, rushing to remove my bag from the coach in the dim street light, (that's my excuse) I removed I very similar black bag. Too late the coach drove off!. No fear said Santos as he leaped on is scooter after the bus. I only mention this as that's what the Mira is about, nothings too much trouble, simply ask and someone will help you.
The rooms are of standard decor, tv with a/c (optional) a wet room with w/c , sink and shower. Breakfast is standard toast and jam, coffee/tea with optional extras of fully cooked, what makes the Mira are the staff, Simon, Roy, Santos our trusty taxi driver and Babu our room cleaner (which was cleaned every day) with fresh towels and bedding.
Location wise the Mira is pretty in the thick of it, but not on the main drag, with locals living either side. Step out of the hotel turn left walk 100m your'e at the roundabout. left about 200m your'e on the beach. If you turn right at the roundabout your'e on the main drag of Calangute and all the market stalls, chemists, etc.
The hotel has a very friendly easy going atmosphere, that why people keep going back and also Laura the Thomas Cook rep excels herself in looking after your every need. Its always nice to come home after a month in Goa, but now after a couple of week, we wish we were back at the Mira, with all our friends.
Can't wait till 2012.
