“Excellent Location but rooms not upto the mark”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

The hotel enjoys an excellent location. But the decor of the room, the restaurant were not upto the mark. However, the rooms were clean. Toilet was also quite clean. The rooms were slightly small. The housekeeping services were quite unresponsive. I needed to call the reception, everytime I needed something from housekeeping. That too everytime I needed to call atleast two times. The food was good and breakfast buffet spread was quite good. My room had a very good sea view.

It's a great place to relax and rest. The cuisine was great, the staff - absolutely efficient.

The rooms were equipped with a paid minibar, tea tray, bottled water.
The bathrooms were adequately clean, which I loved.

There was little on-site entertainment, so if you expect "fun", you might be disappointed.

I liked the food - I have nothing to complain about but some cleanliness issues in the restaurant.

I think they offer great quality for the price.

Overall - a great choice if you're looking for peace and quiet.

I stayed in this hotel during my honeymoon and one can not get better than this. Awesome hotel with great service and breakfast buffet. The room service and cleanliness is an additional advantage. The rooms and quite spacious. The the best part is that the beach is just walking past its back gate. All in all I love this hotel.

Room Tip: Get a first floor of the hotel to get a better view.

On the basis of the reviews on tripadvisor we [4 couples] finalised Goan Heritage for our 4 nights' stay at Goa from 4th April'12. There are some pluses and some minuses which I would like to share with the members/viewers of tripadvisor:

Pluses:

1. Location. Right on the beach which can be accessed through a pathway. Beach is quieter than the main calangute/baga belt.

2. Housekeeping. Cleaning and changing linen/towels every day without much trouble.

3. Reception staff. Checkin was smooth....checkout was smoother...even allowed us the use of two rooms beyond checkout time as our flight was later in the evening.

4. Pool. Well maintained.

5. Rooms are good and clean with comfortable beds and clean toilets [atleast in the deluxe rooms that we had].

Minuses:

(a) The attitude of the staff [restaurant] is not welcoming enough for a place like Goa. We were a group of 8 people and wanted to sit together for breakfast by joining two tables. We were told that this is not allowed.....ultimately was allowed after exchange of few words. In the evenings we were refused the use of the resort area for our get together and were asked to have the drinks in our room/s only. Very unbecoming of a resort in Goa. Only after I had a word with the Restaurant Manager (I think Mr. Santana) did he agree for the above.....and then we had a nice evening at an outhouse on the periphery of the property next to the beach.

Overall the staff do not smile and one does not feel welcomed at all...though towards the end they were politely asking us about the food quality and the stay.

(b) Food. Breakfast was a limited affair...though boasting of north and south Indian cuisine every day. I was told that the revolve the dishes every week however on the 3rd morning itself the menu of the 1st morning was repeated to a certain extent. The quality of the food was sub-standard and bland. The only saving grace was the egg-station where we had to stand and get our eggs made as per our choice. Also they do not serve brown/whole wheat bread which was a disappointment for me. Seeing the condition of the breakfast we did not have any major meal at the hotel....snacks ordered by us one evening were just about okay. Btw they charge for the ice also.

(c) The gym is obsolete....with a very faulty treadmill.

(d) The rates are much higher than the properties of a similar nature in the area. For the time of the year we were charged on a higher side.

(e) They demand 100% payments in advance......and the attitude that they have once you are in the property seems that "now that you have paid in full we care a damn".

(f) My wife asked for a plate and a knife to have fruits in the room. One day it came without any trouble but the next day the room service person said "providing a plate and knife is not in our policy"!!!!! strange very strange....again a few heated words and the plate and the knife came but it left a bad taste.

All in all a very mixed kind of property or may be we were expecting a bit too much for the price we were paying!!!

hi, this is my first review on trip advisor.

Went to this place by chance, we wanted a real beach view resort and the taxi guy took us here. before going here we had checked in for other places in calangute and we really worried if we would get a beach view resort. but we werent disappointed as the goan heritage gives you a beach view. however there are other places which are closer to the beach but they are guest house kinds, this one is a paradise close to the beach.
lucky for us we had a room which was getting vacated at the time we checked in. so we were told to wait for some time. the wait was worth it becuase we had an awesome beach close by.
the beach is just walkable they have a gate which opens up directly to the beach from their premises.
food is normal not much variety on the menu. house keeping staff are polite, the room is cleaned everyday. they provide complimentary break fast too.
overall an awesome location for an awesome outing

Room Tip: delux room for beach view.

We went to Hotel Goan Heritage with some friends. It was off season, hot afternoons. Not that we had any reason to complain, we cooled off in the lovely pool! The bar is just by the pool and the bar tender whips up lovely cocktails, to sip in the pool. The rooms were very good, extremely comfortable beds, clean bathrooms. We took the rooms which faced the back-yard. We guessed that the pool facing rooms could get a little noisy towards the evening.
The best part of the hotel is without doubt, the location. The rear gate opens directly to Calangute beach. We enjoyed lovely sunsets without getting away from the hotel. Thankfully, this part of Calangute beach is away from the crazy crowds. The hotel had well kept manicured lawns. The food was good, especially the breakfast in the dining hall. We had ordered some meals via room service, which were good too. The staff was courteous and very helpful, no complaints there !

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool might get noisy towards evening, as this place is popular with families. Ask f...
