We lived in a resort behind Maggies. Someone at our resort told us to go to Maggies and enquire about a bike we could hire from them. That is how we came to interact with the guy who was managing the place at the time. It was not the owner but one of the employees who was nice to us initially till we landed up at Maggies for Breakfast one morning. We ordered the usual breakfast of omlettes and toast. When we were paying the bill I thought it was quiet steep so I asked the same guy who we had met earlier regarding the bike. Since we had been having breakfast in places around Maggies, we knew the standard rates for our breakfast. The bill was more than the normal so I asked him why we were paying so much. To my horror he was obnoxiously rude to me. He started snapping at me. My husband had to intervene for he refused to tone done his language.
Well Maggies we realized are really fooling people. Almost all or any self respecting place in Goa or many other parts of India includes two toasts with omlettes. Maggies does NOT. For two slices of bread with or without a chip of butter they charge you somewhere around 35-45 rupees. A loaf of bread coast 20-30 rupees in India. The quality of Breakfast too was not up to the mark. My husband who had pegged this place as serving good food was very upset and disappointed. Kingstork Beach Resort in the same vicinity and of a higher standard had food priced at the same level as Maggies though the quality at Kingstork was far better. They did not charge us for petty things like toasts “separately”! Recommend you to avoid Maggies restaurant. Far better places to eat in and around that area.
