“relaxed holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2013

If you want a relaxed holiday with options of cooking yourself and nearby activities such as swimming pool, snooker, table tennis, carrom, video games and other daily scheduled stuff for kids including glass painting etc this is the place to stay. You can reach the beach by walk 15-20 mins. They also have a small grocery where you can buy at MRP but some things like salt, sugar and rice which are packed inside were overpriced. If you walk upto Maria Hall area all fresh produce including veg, fruits, meat and groceries can be bought at cheaper price. There is also a spa inside but we didn't get a chance to sample their services.

The place is tucked away far from the hustle bustle of South Goa. The biggest advantage (in my opinion) is that there is minimal network coverage in the rooms. The best part is that the resort is recently renovated & has good rooms & bathrooms. The staff is courteous & available almost 24*7, the beach is about 20 mins away & isn't as crowded as the ones in Goa are. The swimming pool has an attached restaurant that serves great food! Tratorria has most cuisines & the food is above average. Bikes are available right outside the resort for hire @ 250 / day. The kitchen has almost everything one can ask for (we cooked for over 10 ppl for the entire week). The grocery store has the daily needs & veggies are available outside the resort. One must try this place for a peaceful holiday!

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms!

- Tried one of the 1 BHK refurbished rooms. They were spacious with kitchen amenities in place, the feeling of making your own breakfast on holiday is good! (+1 star for the room). They have a store too with most of basic stuff available.
- The beach was around 20 mins walk from the hotel. Nice if you need a peaceful beach to relax or play with kids.
- There are many cheap bike & activa rentals outside hotel. You can hire a bike and roam around nearby places.
- Housekeeping was quick & helpful. Laundry & other services were promptly responded. The hotel staff was professional & quite helpful too.
- There were many good eateries just outside the hotel that made some tasty food! The hotel restaurant seemed to be good too.
- There were lots of activities for kids and they had games every evening. Folk dance etc or activities for older tourists might have been good.
- Gym was a disappointment with weights rusted, worn out & no cycle or stepper available. Luckily the treadmill was working. -1 star for the Gym.
- Found membership option funny and like a 'trap' . We can book a cheaper & flexible deal on a travel website for any city in any season without a membership too.

Room Tip: - Poolside rooms seem to be better than the roadside ones.

We went to this resort on our wedding anniversary and decided to go to south goa this time. We were given apartment on third floor, though we r young and wudn't mind that still lift would have been preffered. The swimming pool is nice and clean, not much option in menu and restaurant is average. Apartment is well equipped ..nice big two balconies. We were highly put off by the agent of RGBC who took us on resorts tour and tried to sell of the membership, we wasted a whole day in this stupidity, so beware of anyone approaching unless u want to become a member. We were highly disappointed at the time of leaving as we asked for wake up call but nobody called and though staff came to check pantry but did not carrg the luggage three floors down. Resort is good service is not...

It is located 1 km from Benaulium beach ( beautiful, least crowded, clean and calm beach.. white sand). I had 1 BR apartment with them. Initiallty they gave me a room where even the mattress was not fitting n the bed and bathroom was stingy however on my request they changed the room. The new room was ok but couch was still not good. On the positive side they had provided every damn thing you need to make food in kitchen ( utensils not grocery). Swim pool was clean and good. Location is fantastic , you have a small market outside where you can get everything. All other facilities are there like children activities and even they have their own small grocery shop inside.

Staff was cordial. Overall a good place to spend holiday where you can cook food , make tea if you want some home stuff in b/W.

Room Tip: Check the furniture and bathrooms before booking the room. Better to take room on Ground floor.

Stayed for 3 nights at the Royal Palms, Benaulim with family including 2 young kids.

Location:
Firstly the hotel is located in South Goa and is quite close to the Railway Station Madgaon (20 mins). Also, Benualim is in this sweet spot in South Goa, where you are centrally located to all places in South and quite convenient to travel by highway to North Goa if you have to.

The hotel is about 15 mins walk from the beach and quite conveniently located with a lot of restaurants and shops close by.
Hence 4 star for the location.

Checkin/Rooms/Amenities:
The lobby is well furnished and we had a quick checkin. If you get your own car, they have reasonable parking about 50 meters away in a parking lot.

We got the rooms near the road and there were severe mobile connectivity issues and wifi connectivity issues, else the room was quite peaceful. They have a kitchenette completely stocked with required utensils and the norms in this hotel is for large families coming there and usually preparing their own meals.

The overall comfort of the room was 2.5 Star; the bed room had a queen size bed(which we thought was small) and there was a sofa cum bed in the hall which makes it convenient for extra persons. The furnishings, though comfortable were a little tired and this place needs some refurbishment in the coming days

The pool was quite good and it closes by 8:00 PM.
The convenience store, though small was very well stocked and quite reasonably priced.

Restaurant (La Trattoria)
The restaurant is a nice cozy place with okay food – however, you will be severely disappointed if you are looking for seafood. The rationale given by the waiter was that since most of the rooms have kitchenettes, most people prefer to cook and also, there are a lot of Gujarati families who are vegetarian. If you are looking for sea food try the beach side shacks or the restaurants across the hotel.

The place is great.
We stayed in a 1BR apartment, which was having a kitchenette attached and a minibar.
All facilities required were available. The best thing the kids enjoyed was the swimming pool. However the kids pool is not advisable for small kids, as it is deeper than usual.
The restaurant is at outer side in corner of the resort and food is good, as many non-residents also use that restaurant.
The only con I could find is its location, which is 2.5 Kms from the beach and the area is having very less number of restaurants and shops etc.
Only advisable for a 2-3 days stay otherwise you will bet bored.

Room Tip: We stayed in the ground floor apartment near the restaurant and haven't seen their other rooms...
