its not a 5 star property feeling but with that tariff,i think its the best at the price.they have all ac rooms.food is fresh...service is a bit slow considering its off season......room is comfortable and clean ..y they even helped us to get north and south goa tour and u can hire a taxi or go by deluxe bus which is cheaper, the GM is very helpful and she is more then happy to tell us honestly where to go and from where we can get cheap shopping done and even abt the night life, which we loved in goa.

We had gone on a vacation for the first time with our seven month old kid and Goa was the obvious choice since its close to Mumbai (where we stay). We planned this trip with our extended family of 6 adults and since we had our child, an infant, we wanted a property close to the beach. Hence the choice of this property. Whilst booking, we were told that they would provide us a "suite" and a "deluxe" room with additional beds and we agreed since we knew that we would spend most of our time in one room anyway. We negotiated the costs on the phone and agreed on an amount of INR 20,000 for 4 nights for the package which included airport transfers and breakfast. However, when I received an email, the cost reflected as INR 21,000. When I called to re-check, I was told that since they were unable to arrange for airport transfers at a cost which they had budgeted, they had increased the package cost by 1k unilaterally, however with an assurance that every effort will be made to manage the final costs within 20,000.
I ignored that and agreed to the new price and deposited 50% of the amount as an advance in the account number indicated.
On arrival, it took some time to figure out where the car was parked and then the driver wasn't aware whether he was to switch on the AC, which he eventually did at our insistence. When we reached Candolim, the driver couldn't find the property, as the property didn't have a name written outside!!!
When we finally located the property, we realised that it was just a "house" where people (maybe the owner) reside on the ground floor and let out the rooms on the first floor!!!!! And we were made to believe over phone and also on their website that this was a "resort"!!!

At arrival: Nobody to take off the bags from the car. I had to do it myself. Even before we could get into the rooms we were asked to pay up the balance 50%!!! Can you believe that????

Rooms: "Suite"- Well it was the biggest joke ever played on me. The property being old, the room has poorly maintained mosaic flooring, the AC didn't work for sometime till they managed to fix it and it was a similar case with the 21 inch box TV. There were Rs. 2 sachets of shampoo and Rs.5 worth Medimix soaps which were placed at the bathroom. The wash basin outlet was not even connected!!! So what you put into the wash basin flows into the room. There were damp spots on the walls and the ceiling was made of the poorest form of false ceiling possible. The bed would be at least 20 years old and the sofa was an old wrought iron one. We killed 3 large cockroaches inside the room during our stay. You only get 2 litres of water complimentary everyday. I guess now you understand what a "suite" means!

Service: Every single day, we were asked to pay up, when I maintained that I had already paid 50% advance and shall pay the remaining on checkout by credit card (note credit card as this will come up later). There is a sham of a front desk - basically a lady sitting on a chair with a table who leaves at 6 pm. Post that you need to search around the house(all rooms over 2 floors including the kitchen) to locate one of the boys who will then hand over the keys to you. No phone, not even a bell to call them. On the last night, the receptionist had locked our keys in the drawer and went home. So we had to wait 45 minutes for them to get us our keys since they didn't even have a duplicate key!

Food: Complimentary breakfast if you thought that would at least be a saving grace, think again. Choice is Puris and aloo or Aloo paratha or Toast and Omlette. If you ask for a 2nd omlette, you are charged INR 90 for the same.No juices or choice of anything else. Quality of food was poor, though not terrible but extremely expensive. There were tea/coffee and sugar sachets placed in the rooms and once we opened the sugar sachet, we were greeted by ants and worms.

Checkout: At checkout, we were told that we need to pay by cash or else they would charge an additional 2%! Remember, since Day 1 I had maintained I shall pay by card and nothing was mentioned then. I was told to get cash from an ATM, a kilometre away, if I didn't want to pay the additional 2% and when I finally gave up reasoning and agreed and asked to borrow one of their bikes to get the cash, I was flatly refused. So I was expected to walk a kilometre to the ATM , pull out cash and pay up or else pay up the additional 2% that they would charge! When I asked for a bill, they gave me one with no service tax number. When I insisted, the truth was out, they don't have a license to run a hotel or guest house for that matter!

Overall, the owners/employees are complete frauds who are only after your money, if you are prudent, you would never ever go to this property or the other one that they run in Bardez by the same name La Solitaire!

We stayed here for 2 days and it was a very homely experience. It is a typical villa with rooms well crafted. The location is exotic with the back part facing the sea. Sitting and viewing the sunset was a good experience here. The staff managing this place are extremely good to talk to and helpful in every manner. We did not hear a NO for anything we asked for. The food they served was clean and tasty. I was told that this is just 7 months old. Good luck to La Solitaire team. Recommended stay.

Room Tip: Try out their top floor rooms. They are excellent.
