“Was probably good once”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Let me start by saying this isn't a bad place to see.

But it ain't great either. The owners are friendly enough, but they seem to have become complacent.

Our room was very basic, but basic does not have to mean dirty. It was crawling with bugs, the walls were mucky and there was a lot of dust. The bathroom was no better. Outside the cleaner polished the floor every day - I just wish she had paid the same attention to the room.

And that essentially was the nub of the issue, this is a good place in the sun which could be looked after better.

The rooms have fans which are very noisy indeed. Ours probably just needed some bolts tightening or a bit of oil and it would have run perfectly. But I got the impression no one had looked at it for ages.

The Wi-Fi was so bad it would have been better if there was no Wi-Fi - that way we wouldn't have wasted half an hour at a time trying to get a connection. The service honestly seemed to be broken more than it was working. There are plenty of decent cafes nearby with decent internet connections so in the end we gave up and just used the internet at dinner times.

These moans aside, the owner was friendly and helpful when approached. She booked us a cheap taxi and did a great job with our laundry.

This place is not as good as many of the reviews suggest. We also stayed in the guesthouse next door which was a lot nicer and cleaner. But that one has a lot less rooms and gets booked up - so you'll probably end up staying here.

Room Tip: Pay a bit better for the deluxe, they seem to be significantly nicer.

I stayed here for two weeks in January 2013. The owners are friendly and very helpful. I had to book taxis, hire a scooter and ask directions and every time Maria ensured I got what I needed. There is a mixture of rooms including privates, doubles, triples and a six bed mixed dorm. I stayed in a triple and the 6 bed. The rooms are average price for the area. The setting is lovely with lots of palms and plants which are maintained by John and encourage lots of wildlife into the garden. I was reading a book in my hammock when a group of monkeys came and were playing in the trees.
There is no breakfast or kitchen, however the Free Soul Cafe across the road does excellent coffee and toast for INR 80 and has the best wifi in Anjuna. As with most of India the wifi can be hit and miss.
The rooms were cleaned daily which is important in a room of six. The six bed room doesn't really feel like a dorm as it is really two rooms separated by a door with three beds in each room and a large bathroom at the end. Again, as with most of India, the beds are on the firmer side.
This is a great place to meet people from all over. There were a few who were here to party, some here doing yoga and others just here for the beach. All in all it was a fun mix of people and as a single traveler I felt safe and was able to meet people to have a beer/ chai with.
Maria and John totally make this place. They were always around to have a chat and give advice. They also have a great wee cat who enjoys spending time with the guests.
20 mins walk from the beach. 20 mins walk to flea market. 5 mins walk to supermarket. Restaurant next door and others close by.

Room Tip: I booked in to a three bed room as a single traveller. I preferred this to the six bed because I'...

I spent one week at Silver Moon Guest house and overall was happy with my stay.

The rooms are pretty basic but perfectly fine and are situated around the edge of a lovely garden. Each room has its own patio and the layout is good if you are wanting to meet other travellers.

The guest house is about 10/15 minutes walk to the beach but just 5 from the cafes and shops in Anjuna.

I did unfortunately have a few unwanted vistors, namely a Lizard and a Frog which kept appearing from the shower plug hole and hopping around the bathroom!! Harmless but could have done without!

Nevertheless, the service is what really makes this place. Maria and John are so friendly and welcoming and are always happy to do anything to help make your stay more comfortable.

I would definitely recommend this guesthouse if you are looking for reliable budget accommodation and great service in Anjuna.

We booked a night here ahead of arrival in Anjuna in late December as we were worried about not finding accommodation. On paper this guest house looks and sounds wonderful. We were greeted by the owner who showed us to our room. It looked like they hadn't really bothered to clean in there, when we turned the fan on we were treated to a coating of dust all over the bed. The bathroom was ok but could have done with a scrub and once you had the shower on you could have had a bath as the water was very slow draining. All minor things though. The place does have wifi which goes in it's favour. The funniest thing was when we left the next morning the owner ran out and said "give us a good review". I dont really like being asked this and I'd probably be inclined to be a bit nicer if she'd actually interacted with us more than an initial 'hello'. The room was pricey too, we were there at peak season, but I think they are asking too much.

It felt like home! Quite, good atmosphere and the BEST SHOWER IN INDIA! Always strong and hot. The owners are the nicest couple who made the place feel like a family house, always willing to help and making sure if everything was fine. Wifi internet is provided and hammocks for all rooms. Hassle free stay, close to shops, restaurants and 10 minutes walk to the beach. Def recommend!

Room Tip: choose the private rooms!

Last month we spent 4 days In Silver Monn Guest house in Anjuna. It was very good stay. Owners are very nice, polite and totally helpful. Rooms are modest but clean, located in nice garden so adequate to price. Guest house is on main road close to beatiful tropic beach (10 minutes by walk).
So I can only recommend
