“Nice property, bad food!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

The resort- Absolutely beautiful if you like living with nature and eco-themed resorts are your thing. Loved the cosy cottages and the little walkways in between the cottages. The dome cottages are huge! The bathrooms are decent and clean. The pool is ok, not that great. Loved the casual seating around the pool and restaurant.

Food-is really bad! The complimentary buffet breakfast is poor. And they do not have any a-la-carte items to serve either! Room service is not 24 hours which is a big downer! One has to move out of the resort for every meal and that itself defeats the purpose of a laid-back, relaxing holiday!

Location-although very close to all the hot spots in Anjuna, like Curlies, German Bakery and the flea market, if you do not have your own vehicle, you are stuck as there is nothing within walking distance!

Overall, although cannot complain about the rooms and the beauty of the resort, we could not 'chill' due to lack of food!

Room Tip: Try the dome cottages, they are huge and lovely.

Glad you enjoyed the stay and really sorry that you did not have a good experience with the food-we usually get compliments for our food and will have to look into that..

The 1960's true Goan heritage with individual cottages. We had a great stay here in this cute resort which is away from the busy crowd of Goa (Baga-Anjuna in north). Anjuna Beach is secluded with a different kind of crowd of its class. There are so many hotels nearby in Anjuna and we were bit hesitant at the time of reservation through one of the Holiday club called "Club Azure-in north Goa, as there were some reviews that Anjuna beach is not suitable for the Indian families coz of the rave parties and nightlife with nudity. At last we had a stay to remember till our next vacation.

To let you know about facilities, 2-bed room cottages were good with its typical ambiance surrounded by lush green gardens , rabbits running all over the resort. Spacious living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms. The bathtub was a bit old however that is the way it is as it is the vintage category resort. Switches inside reminded us our grand parents era ( holding the switch in two fingers and pull to turn-on/off lights). To speak about service, fantastic- all are very much customer service oriented and eager to serve exceeding our expectations.Food was delicious and we enjoyed all kind of cuisines. The best part is you can order what to you want and it will be ready within no time. Rarely you get to see this kind of atmosphere in resorts as it is difficult to manage to serve different people with their individual needs. Overall i would give 90% rating for food. Another good aspect of this resort is the big swimming pool surrounded by the garden and the kind of crowd is also good (hippy crowd). It would be wrong if we say the resort/rooms are not luxurious because the resort is the replica of Maldives kind of resorts with full green inside and if you come out of the resort, it is the beach. Even in hot summer, you would not feel the humidity just because of its exteriors and interiors. (Cottages are built with red-stones which absorbs the heat).
Hiring a car or two wheeler is must here as this resort is bit away from the regular shopping streets and the Anjuna Beach is 800 mts away gives an easy access to the rocky beaches. Shacks are also well located and gives lovely views of the shore. When we landed in Goa in the hot summer May, initially we regretted but after staying in this COOL resort and taking the mud bath /spa (ayurvedic) we came back rejuvenated.

I would like to thank the team of CLUB AZURE to provide this resort as a special offer. Just for your information this company called Club Azure has covered most of the resorts in India and all are luxury and unique resorts for their in house members and i am planning to buy one of them sooner( it is affordable with ample of benefits). I just paid around 5k for a 2 bedroom private villa for 4 nights for 4 persons- try your luck by contacting the team of Club Azure- 9900045052 (always not reachable).

Overall i would say it was a pleasant experience with my family especially with kids and i recommend this resort to all kind of group (especially honeymooners).

Food/Service - good and fast.Food is not extra ordinary but good enough.Coffee was nice.
Breakfast - basic continental stuff.fruits,corn-flakes,tea-coffee,bread-butter,omelette could be better.
Staff - friendly & helpful.
Pool - awesome.best thing about the place.was kept clean.drinks/beverages were served at the pool, which was nice.
Room - clean and rustic.Mosquito nets included.
Location - not bad.close to baga and closer to anjuna and vagator.

Good for couples or group of friends.
It's very rustic and quite, feels like having a cottage/villa in a jungle.
Nice beds and a good bathroom.Do call them if you are going during off-season, they will give you a good rate for the rooms. We got a very sweet deal on the 2 bed-room villa.
The roof leaked at places during rains, but didn't cause us any problems.
Mosquito issue is solved by keeping the doors and the mosquito net closed.
They have a nice lounge area where they play typical chill-wave music.Guests can also plug in their i-pods and play whatever.Lounge area over looks the pool and has a pool table.

Problem - rooms are dimly lit, which becomes an issue at night.
A little difficult to find.

Conclusion - would definitely go here again.

We were-
4 friends in a 2 bedroom villa during 1st week of June, just before the heavy rains start.

Me and my wife stayed at this hotel in the month of May. Stating with the first we ended up in this hotel in monsoon season not knowing about the hotel. This hotel is an amazing one and exceptional VFM when it is not raining. You get a decent living room, Hygienic bathroom and (good)different bedroom.. We liked the moment we walked into it. But rain happened after that and ruined our complete stay. The hotel is not catered much for rains or may be we were just unlucky. Rain had seeped into the roof tiles and spread into the complete room, making it really nasty for just being in that room. We had booked our trip through Expedia. After the 2nd day of heavy rain we snapped and tried to get an another room. But there was no luck for us and the hotel didn't assure any rectification on the next day and the owner just refused to talk to me on the phone. (That attitude of a hotel owner really makes anyone mad...That was the worst thing about that hotel). We checked out after that day and the hotel refused to take any money from us.. IT was sweet but after two day rains and making us mad...that is the least they can do..

Pros: Good welcoming staff, off beat rooms, close to Anjuna beach, VFM, pool, etc
Cons: Not at all for monsoon, problem handling very bad.

Room Tip: Not for monsoon, other seasons thums up.

Hi, I was away at a private engagement that night but on the phone several times with the staff re your problem. They were aware of the ground situation far better than I could be and they would always do everything they can for the guests. The whole area was blacked out because of the flash storm, the hotel was on generator. Sorry for your discomfort.

Been staying here for a week every year for the past 6 years now.
And I love it.
Of late, Anjuna is slowly getting more and more commercialised, but this is a place that still draws me back to it.
It isn't for everyone. Not everyone will take to the stone cottages and the walkways between the cottages.
The food isn't that great really, but if you are staying here, it is for a friendly chill experience. They have a decent pool table and guests can play pool for hours, while chilling by the pool and sipping on strawberry banana shakes and beers.
We spent most of our time in the pool, which they really make a great effort in keeping clean but it isn't humanly possible to keep it spotless. I havent checked out their spa yet, but i believe its quite decent.
The rooms are cosy. If you are going in a group of 4-5 people you should try getting the Dome cottage. Its super chill.

Room Tip: Choose the Domed cottage if you travelling with 4-5 people.

Anjuna is not a place for family & kids - hence my title.
Laguna is quite spectacular - the layout of the property that has lovingly & painstakingly preserved as much natural fauna as possible is a refreshing change from the neatly manicured grounds one abhors.
The room was a surprise - it was round. And once we got accustomed to it, it was quite charming. I especially loved the open brick work in the dome roof that ended in a lovely stained glass sky light.
Furnishing was simple but adequate.
Linen was clean & fresh.
Food was wholesome and in large portions.
The staff did their best - with a few bunglings that can simply be excused given their lack of language skills &/or training.

Hi, thanks for the review, and glad you had a good time. Would like to say though that despite being a party beach destination, Anjuna and Laguna Anjuna are actually very family oriented and child friendly.
We
look forward to your next visit, perhaps with family, and helping you discover the village!

Had a really lovely time at the Laguna. Perfectly located in the heart of Anjuna, with all the "in" places just short bike ride away. The lush hotel grounds are perfect for a warm day, you can disappear in your room or hang out in the garden with a great pool. Really friendly staff with authentic laid back Goan attitude. Had a great seafood dinner one evening listening to some amazing reggae music. You can see the hustle of the flea market on Wednesdays right across in the distance, so quite easily reached. A must do. Rooms were very comfy with a real rustic beach feel. Cant wait to go back...
