“A Haven in the Mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

As soon as you are welcomed on the porch by Tony and Eleanor you know you're in for a great stay. We had the Nautical room ( and yes did try the Hammock and fall out of it !!) , Tony showed us all the others and any one would have done !
Eleanor's garden is absolutely stunning, shows her British roots! Very relaxing place to sit and enjoy the sunshine.
Eleanor makes dessert each night, which is left in the fridge for you on your return from dinner, leave your diets at the door here. The breakfasts are amazing ( buffet style so you don't feel as if you're being force fed as in some B&B's) and they both join you and the other guests for coffee and conversation. The house has a real homely friendly feel about it.

Mentone was also an experience for 2 English folk. Everyone was so friendly and couldn't understand why we had chosen their town for our short 2 night stay . But we were at the end of our trip on the way back to Atlanta Airport and found the B&B first. The quaint wood shack shops. and restaurants are well worth a visit.

It is 3 miles or so out of Mentone in the country, very quiet and peaceful.
Highly Recommended !

Wonderful hosts! Very clean! Very relaxing! Very good food! Stayed in the Nautical room. Comfortable beds. My first B&B. Loved the gardens and the wildlife here. Breakfast was fantastic. Can't wait to go back.

I recently stayed at Raven Haven in Mentone, Al with my family. We had a wonderful time the B&B was clean, cozy and inviting. Not to mention beautiful!! The food was absolutely amazing it gave me the chance to try the local cuisine. Mrs. Evelyn out did herself each morning. The Teverinos were warm and inviting, greeting us each day with a smile and good morning. Since I live out of town the Raven Haven felt like home away from home and gave me and my family a chance to make wonderful memories. We have already planned our next visit in October. Don't miss the chance to experience beautiful Mentone at one of the Best places!! Many thanks to the Treverinos!!

I have stayed at B&B world wide and Raven Haven is right there at the top. It is a family atmosphere that makes you feel like your going home for a visit. Food is awesome something new every morning. The price is just right and the owners make you feel so welcome. We will be coming back again and again. Eleanor and John have the most amazing flower garden I could spend hours just walking and setting in them watching the flowers and birds and humming birds play.

Room Tip: Any room would be wonderful

Was looking for a place for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary and was struck by the glowing reviews for Raven Haven. After meeting Tony and Eleanor and spending an evening as their guests, I must admit that every glowing review I had read was spot on. For starters, you won't find two more gracious hosts. We stayed in the Nautical suite which was immaculate. The gardens that Eleanor tends would be worth a visit in and of itself. Breakfast was delicious. Tony recommended an outstanding local restaurant for dinner, and even took extra time to give us tips on best practices setting up an aquarium, a skill in which he happens to be quite proficient.

If you are seeking a peaceful evening or two away from noise and busyness, then you need to pay a visit to Raven Haven.

My husband and I had the opportunity to stay at Raven Haven this past weekend and it was well worth the trip. The B & B is about 3 miles out of Mentone in a wonderful, quiet, peaceful setting. Tony was there to greet us on arrival (even though we were a little early) and made us feel right at home. After we were settled into the "Casablanca" room (its name says it all) we decided to explore the town and he helped direct us to several choice eateries. We wound up at the Moonlight Bistro--their chicken salad was wonderful! After a restful night's sleep, we were provided a gourmet breakfast (Eleanor is an awesome cook!) and Tony gave us a map of the surrounding area outlining the best route for the next leg of our journey. The B&B is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The beds are comfortable, the surroundings quiet and peaceful, the fellowship welcoming and the food is extraordinary. If you have an opportunity to travel to the Fort Payne/Chattanooga area or just want to get away for a few days for some R&R, Raven Haven is well worth the trip!

Room Tip: There are several different themed rooms to choose from. The Casablanca is on the ground floor and...

We stayed 2 nights very comfortably in the Queen Anne room. Tony & Eleanor were delightful hosts, who helped us decide on some nearby activities. Breakfasts were varied, delicious, and filling! We enjoyed chatting with another couple each morning at breakfast, as well as our hosts. Our first afternoon, we enjoyed wandering in their gardens, which were full of interesting and different plants. When in Mentone, we'd definitely stay there again!
