I purchased my dream cabin near Mentone, Al last fall and began remodeling it so i could move in by spring. I had to be in Mentone while most of the work was done and the folks at windwood farms suggested I go to the Mentone Inn and see about accommodations.
Miss Gloria and Miss Cynthia met me at the door in pajamas as it was a cold day and they were closed but welcomed me into their den and got me a cup of coffee and agreed to let me stay an indefinate period over the winter. They gave me a front door key, access to the kitchen and a cozy downstairs room.
I was actually sad the day the last of the workers left my cabin and proclaimed the job "done" and although I was happy to be in my own home, I was sad to be leaving the Inn.
Cyn and Gloria have a way of treating everyone like family, no stuffy snobs or slouches here. These are two very creative gals who are fulfilling their vision of an all encompassing comfortable and inviting environ that promotes the arts, music and most of all, a sense of "coming home". i visit often.
