“Great Facility”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

Great overnight stay while in the area for business. Hotel is newer, and very well kept. Check-in was seamless, room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Walls are a bit thin though....I could hear the person cough in the adjoining room. Even number rooms face East. Breakfast was typical Hampton fare, and was well stocked.

Room Tip: Even rooms face East

They are trying to run a nice property like a super 8 (sorry Super 8). The property was clean and not a problem with the physical appearance of property. I was not offered an express check out. I had to go to the desk to check out. Do not look for a comfortable chair in the room because you will not find one. As a long time Hilton Honors member I was not offered a water and snack that most Hampton's do to make you feel appreciated. Had only 2 towel sets in the room (CHEAP). I had the feeling the owners are cutting corners every way they can and that is just not the way you should run a Hampton.

On our way to SC with kids. This hotel is very conveniently located near-by the high way, however the quality of the hotel is above those that are typically near highways. Clean, modern, new, great amenities and breakfast was top notch (compared to like hotels and other Hamptons). Would highly recommend.

We stayed here to visit the nearby Barber Motorcycle Museum and of course Bass Pro Shop just across the road. Our reservations were correct, no billing errors, the rooms were spotless, and the A/C cold and quiet. All the hotel staff we met were knowledgeable and professional.

This hotel is a perfect place to stay if your visiting Barber Motorsports Museum, AMA Superbike racing or the Indy car race of Alabama. The location at just over a mile from the facility is perfect. With a great open pool area, wonderful comfy beds, generous sized bathrooms. The location is also very good to get to restaurants and nightlife without having sacrifice a quiet nights sleep. The reception staff are excellent, warm and inviting. I would recommend anyone to stay there and I will be back again.

This is definitely the place to stay if you are at an event at Barber Motorsports. They even have a motorcycle from the museum in the lobby. It is close to Barber. They serve a hot breakfast every morning. The rooms are clean as is the hotel in general. I will be staying there again for the Barber Vintage Days.

I booked the room in advanced and me, my wife and son stayed for one night traveling from Texas to North Carolina. First of all Hampton Inns are NOT economy hotels i.e., Motel 6, Econo Lodge, etc., therefore their prices are a bit more and I consider them in the moderate price range as compared to the economy hotels. But the extra price is nominal compared to the benefits the hotel offers. Here is a list of pros and cons as I see them in my opinion:

Pros:
- I thought the staff was courteous and professional. The desk clerk Angela was extremely polite and recognized and thanked me for being a Hilton Rewards member, which is nice. The check-in was super quick and easy.
- The room was very clean and the décor was nice and modern.
- The beds are super comfortable and I LOVE the crisp clean and bright white sheets and duvet covers. Many hotels use bed comforters and are not cleaned often. This is one of the reasons we stay at a Hampton Inn as you know all your bedding is clean and you can tell the bedding is clean.
- Room came equipped with a flat screen TV, coffee maker and coffee.
- The breakfast was more than adequate: scrambled eggs with steak and cheese, seasoned potatoes, tortillas (made for good breakfast tacos), hard boiled eggs, waffles, oatmeal, good assortment of pastries, coffee, juices, yogurt and fresh fruit (apples and oranges-no bananas).
- I received 2 of the 4 extra pillows I requested on line, so I can’t complain. The pillows were really comfortable and were not your standard cheap hard foam stuffed pillows. I would like to have their pillows for my own home.

CONS:
- The room did not have a mini-fridge or microwave, which we usually have in other Hampton Inn’s we stayed.
- The channel changer on TV remote did not work, had to go to the main menu on the TV and go to the channel guide to select a channel.
- Although the air conditioner blew cold air it was extremely loud.

Overall the stay was pleasant and I would recommend this hotel. My major priorities are clean and comfortable beds (which are a Hampton Inn standard) and a descent breakfast which this hotel met. I understand that many travelers look for budget hotels, but I rather have a good night's sleep and a good breakfast to start the next day of traveling...good job as usual Hampton!
