The Huntsville Counrty Club opened to the public during the week earlier this year and we decided to take advantage of it. When we got there the course was empty as there was a frost delay. Didn't take long though as we were started on the back nine. Only one other group playing until we had finished the back nine. Greens in very nice shape, the fairways were dormant but in very decent shape as well. One extra perk on the course was there are many large pecan trees and we found ourselves filling our pockets for snacks. The pecans were very tasty. Unfortunately this very old country club filed for bankruptcy about 2 months ago so not sure how long it will be open. It is very decent course and I would think if the club closes that the course will reopen as a public course.
