Maybe I'm too used to the "real deal" in the Hartford, CT area that influenced my being less than satisfied with Sabor Latino. Instead of the traditional corn kernels and green sauce usually served, tortilla chips and salsa graced the table. I assume that is from the Mexican side of the menu but when I asked about the kernels, the waitress had no idea what I was talking about. Expansive menu but the Lomo Saltaldo (a staple dish), grilled chicken and rice/seafood fell short. Not much by the way of seafood, the Lomo Saltaldo swam in a soy based sauce and the chicken lacked the smokey taste so common in better preparation. Staff was pleasant, prices reasonable. Restaurant itself is basic and non-descript. Would I return if again in the Homewood area - only if I was desperate for a taste of Peruvian fare.
