“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

Party of six. We had shrimp and grits, a hamburger, crab cakes, catchif the day and a couple of the chopped pork dinners. Everything was great. Key lime pie and five layer chocolate cake was great. Great service. A great place for the whole family.

“Great Choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Best food we've ever had in Gulf Shores area. Convenient location for Fort Morgan area. Excellent crab cakes, shrimp & grits, fried corn. Good hush puppies for appetizers. Will try breakfast this week. Sounds like a great bargain for a breakfast buffet. Nice fun atmosphere!

“Close to the Beach Club”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

We stayed at the Beach Club during the week of July 1. It is about 15 miles back into Gulf Shores, so we decided to look for restaurant options closer to where we were. One was the Sassy Bass, only a couple of miles down the road toward Fort Morgan. The food and service were both excellent and fairly priced. I highly recommend trying the Sassy Bass before trudging into Gulf Shores and standing in line for so-so food. You won't be disappointed!

“Great food. Not touristy at all!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

On the way to Fort Morgan, there's this great little restaurant off the side of the road. This place is worth it! Great, fresh, meaty seafood -- not just pre-battered frozen attempts at food. This is the real deal. Huge crab claws... Tangy, refreshing slaw... Fantastic fries!

We will be back every trip to the beach. Off the beaten path, yes, but well worth the 15 minute beachside drive!

“Get your Sassy on...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

This place is a bit of a drive but is well worth it. We were greeted at the door by the Owner Mark Frolich, Mark was the former owner of Calypso Joe's Caribbean Grill. Their food is out of this world. Band started at 7 and we never had so much fun. I recommend Sassy Bass as a place to try while your on the Gulf Coast,
