“Great family place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

We really enjoyed how kids friendly, safe, clean and fun the whole place was for our family. It was right on the beach, fast elevators, beautiful clubhouse, great outdoor area. With the shopping, ice cream and arcade our young boys were so very happy. It is a super great place & we really enjoyed our time there!

Room Tip: We loved the 3rd floor Avalon Tower.

My family and I stayed at The Beach Club the first week of June. My children are ages 15, 13 and 8. All had a wonderful time. We have stayed in several properties in this area including Caribe and have enjoyed The Beach Club most of all.

The Pros and reasons you might consider staying at this property are numerous. First, units at the The Beach Club have exceptional water views. Every unit has a direct water view - it's absolutely breathtaking! It is very convenient to get to the beach and pools. The Beach Club is located away from the craziness of Gulf Shores. Some might consider this a con but we enjoyed the quiet location of The Beach Club down Highway 180 closer to Fort Morgan. There are numerous activities for children if that's what you're looking for. We did not rent through Spectrum resorts and did not pay extra for access to the club house. We did not feel we missed out on anything. Also, for the most part the beaches and pools never felt overly busy. We had no problem finding chairs at the pool when we would go mid-day. The grounds are well maintained and we never had to wait of the elevators. Our three bedroom unit was clean, comfortable and well appointed. We rented through Gulf Condo Rentals and had an extremely positive experience working with them.

There are really only two cons that come to mind. Again, we did not mind being further away from the gulf shores area. However it is a 15 mile drive down highway 180 into Gulf Shores. We like to get out almost nightly for dinner. The choices for restaurants in Fort Morgan are very few. We ate at Tacky Jacks 2 one night and it was good. Otherwise we hit Gulf Shores/Orange Beach for most of our dinners. Secondly, the resort seemed to host numerous cheerleading camps. During most of the day they were busy with their camps but on breaks the cheerleaders would take over at the pools. Once at the pool they would do stunts and cheers in the water, making for a noisy (and let's admit annoying) pool experience. We were relieved when the cheerleaders left mid-week. However that same day a new group of cheerleaders came in for another camp.

A friend of mine was down on vacation and I went to visit her at the Beach Club. She was staying in the Bristol tower. The room was VERY nice, over looking the ocean. Full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a nice long balcony. The pools were very clean and they even had a kids movie on down by it. My kids really enjoyed the kiddie pool. The clubhouse had an indoor pool and gym that I could see. I would definitely recommend it to someone.

The Beach Club is a top-notch resort located in the Fort Morgan area of Gulf Shores. It is a lot quieter than Gulf Shores, which has almost turned into a "Destin - traffic jam" in the Summer.
The grounds at the Beach Club are beautiful. We ate at the Restaurant in the Club House, and the décor was beautiful. The food was well presented, and everything was very good. The Hummus appetizer was different, and exciting. We all had fish-dishes, and everyone raved. Each condo is a little different, but the one that we stayed in was very well appointed --we rented through VRBO, which probably saved us a boat-load of money!

Room Tip: Rent through VRBO instead of the Beach Club Resort itself.

We stayed at The Beach Club (in the Catalina tower) for our honeymoon last week, and we had a wonderful time. The condo we were in was a three bed, three bath luxurious condo and we were very pleased with it. We were on the sixth floor and had a lovely view to enjoy seeing great sunrises and sunsets, as well as the white sand and blue ocean. The beach was great and uncluttered. It's far enough away from the main Gulf Shores area to feel like you have some privacy, but close enough to go into town for groceries and attractions. The Beach Club has three restaurants, but one was closed for renovations, which was a bit of a disappointment. Also, their general store, where we had expected to stock up on milk, beer, and other necessities, was also closed, and we found that very annoying. The pools were nice, both indoors and outside. The bar by the pool charged too much for watered down drinks, but at least they had a bar by the pool. The only annoyances we had was our last day there -- Friday -- at mid-afternoon, some idiot came by and told us the chairs and umbrella we were using were rentals only, for $25 each. Since they were going to put them up simply two hours later, this was a joke. Also, we had used them each day all week long with nothing said, so it seemed odd. Additionally, when I tried to get into the clubhouse on Friday to go to the indoor pool, I couldn't get in and a rude staff member told me I basically wasn't good enough to get in -- even though she had let my wife in earlier. We'd also been going to that pool all week, so what's up with that? There was no place to ask questions or get information. Staff were nearly invisible. We had to do a lot of guessing. Still, it's a luxurious place with a great beach, so we hope to return sometime.

We stayed at the club during spring break, so admittedly the most expensive time to travel there. As this was our first time to the area, we didn't know what to expect. We rented through VRBO, and The Beach club was a beautiful property, with a few minor exceptions. Our pool was dirty most days we were there, however there were high winds so that made it difficult to keep clean. The hot tub at our complex also had a rotten odor most days. Also, don't plan on the tram to move you around the property, as it is small and sporadic. We enjoyed being in the Ft Morgan area, but stock up on groceries as you are a good 20 min from town. There is also only one restaurant on property, (one is being renovated) so be prepared to wait for a table. Again, it's hard to judge as this was a very busy time, but overall a nice place to stay.

We've stayed in many condo resorts over the years but we must give cudos to this condo community. We just returned and had a great week, great weather and thought the accommodations were top rated. We've usually vacationed in Destin Florida but decided to try Gulfshores. We will be back. First the beaches were beautiful. The clean up from the oil spill is not evident. So clean and white sand. Everyone on the staff was very helpful and friendly. We ate at the restaurants and they were very good. We've read that people want the pools to be heated but we found them to be fine. The drinks at the pool bar were pricey but good. We thoroughly enjoyed being away from the hustle bustle of Gulfshores, going into town only when we wanted to. Very close to the resort (about 3 miles) near the Chevron station we found a great seafood market and bought both grouper and shrimp from them on different occasions. Would recommend them over the other seafood stores in town. The week after spring break season was so quiet so if you want good rates and quiet - that's a good choice. We didn't try the gym or the spa services but heard from others that they liked it. Great job Beach Club!

Room Tip: Stay higher in the building for the better views. We never heard anything through the walls, all th...
