The guys in my family have been playing golf in the Gulf Shores area for about 12 years now. We've played at just about every course, and The Peninsula is by far our favorite. Our group consists of widely varying skill levels from my dad who gives golf lessons to my younger brother who only plays once a year while we're on vacation. What makes this course great is that the layout if forgiving yet challenging. If you're trying to play smart, you'll end up with a decent score. If you think you're Tiger Woods, you may end up shooting in the triple digits. The course is extremely well maintained every year I've gone, except for one year when they were either re-sodding the greens or had lost them completely. Either way, when we went back the next year they were gorgeous again. I would recommend playing in the afternoon if possible. The twilight rates can save you a lot of cash. Be sure to grab an ice cold apple. Their grill is actually pretty tasty and reasonable priced as well. I also enjoyed the curbside bag services. Be sure to tip those guys if they do a good job and are friendly. Go play it! You will not be disappointed.
