“Nice, but nothing spectacular”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

The unit we had was good, but there was nothing great about it. The furnishings were a bit shabby and there was a problem with both the sliding door lock (it was broken and literally hanging off the door) and the water heater. It took four phone calls to get the water heater finally fixed on our second day there. I just expect a little better when I read reviews calling a place "luxurious"....like perhaps a hair dryer in the unit or nicer furnishings or just something to make it stand out from a generic hotel. Also the shower door in the master bathroom wouldn't stay closed and water would leak from the shower when used. It just appears that some of these units need a little, or a lot, of TLC to help compete with all the new offerings in the area.

The balconies are huge and all units have a great view of the Gulf and the condominiums are well located. Parking was a bit of an issue at times but we did always manage to find a site on property and not have to go across the street.

We recently returned from a week in 1908. Views are spectacular. The unit was spacious, centrally located, yet quiet and upscale. We will be back.

Have been staying in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area for over 20 years now and this was probably the largest two bedroom condo I've been in. However it's a very large high density complex so at peak times get to the beach early to stake out your spot.

Parking was inside and in the heat of the summer that is a huge plus. I did think the pool was unusually small for a building this size but that really didn't matter much to us because we were there for the beach. I rented this unit through the VRBO website and paid approx 250 a night plus fees.

We rented unit 1405 from a private owner and had a remarkable week! It is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath unit on the 14th floor. We wondered about being up that high and having the take the elevator, but the unit was right across from the elevator and no other units were inside. We had so much privacy! When we arrived it was clean and we were in awe of the view off the balcony. We spent a lot of time out there. The only hiccup was not knowing how to check in. We thought we had to drive to the office, which is a mile or two away, but the owner told us the keys were in a real estate lock box right outside the door. That would have been nice to know, but it was ok once we found out.

I was really happy to find many more ammenities than expected. Lots of kitchen utensils and dishes and bakeware. Plenty of towels and linens. Nice furniture and televisions in all the rooms. We had 7 adults and 3 kids under 3 in our unit and we had plenty of room.

Great communication with the owner whenever necessary, which wasn't often at all. Payment was easy and very affordable. I can't say enough great things about unit 1405 and this option for a relaxing family vacation.

Room Tip: Choose a unit owned by a private owner

We spent 4 nights in 707, three bedrooms, three baths. We thought we reserved 2 bedrooms but when we got there we were in a 3 bedroom. When we checked in, the girl was so nice and friendly. She suggested restaurants, since this was our first visit to Gulf Shores. It was very clean and everything we needed was there. The whole place was very well kept. We had no problem with noise, it was very quiet and peaceful. A good place for families. The only negative was the sheets in the master bedroom need to be replaced. Everything else I give an A+. We will be back!

Just spent 8 nights in 1605 & loved it. This unit is very convenient, step off the elevator & there it is, makes loading & unloading luggage & supplies easy. We really can't say that we had a problem with noise from the elevators with the exception of a couple of nights when partiers came back to their units. Our bedroom was right across from the elevator & the revelry was short-lived. So, no problem. We were here with friends & family so we had 5 units altogether. Got to see all & they were all very nice. We left our coolers right outside our door a couple of times & no one bothered them - there is honesty among beachgoers! This condo is within walking distance to the Hang Out & the Pink Pony & is across the street from Waffle House. There is a lot across the street for overflow parking which came in handy as I had visitors from Daytona Beach & New Orleans.
