5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

In spring, the weather was great. Great food. Great service. Great ambiance. You really could not ask for more. Near a golf course. Can even smoke in the balcony!!

That's about it eh? That's about it eh? That's about it eh?

We stayed here one night and wish we could have stayed for more! We booked a room on the concierge floor for the convenience of the lounge- snacks, drinks, breakfast, and relaxing place. We were not disappointed. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. The lounge was comfortable, the food was tasty, and the service was efficient.
We definitely recommend this hotel! A little far from the Robert Trent Jones golf course, but a nice place to stay.

We stayed here for two nights for a pre 4th of July get away. The staff was very courteous and we enjoyed the stay. Had a good view of the Wilson Dam from our balcony but there was some obstruction from trees. The pool was freezing cold and we were here in early July. A little surprising that the pool was so cold this time of year. We enjoyed the onsite dining with four visits to Swampers Bar and Grill and one Visit to the 360 Dining experience atop the Renassaince Tower which connects to the Hotel. The Swampers Bar and Grill was wonderful. The Breakfast buffet was well-appointed and featured a cook station with pancakes, eggs, omelets cooked to order. The prices were good at $13.95 for adults, 5.95 for 6-12 year olds, and free for 5 and under. Prices included drinks as well. We also enjoyed lunch there twice. The house speciality is a white cheddar based Pimento-Cheese. It was wonderful. Also tried the Pimento-Cheese BLT which had fried green tomatoes and the Swamp Burger which was incredible with Pimento Cheese on it as well. The 360 Dining was upscale and we very much enjoyed to slow turning dining area and were able to see the entire area as we ate dinner. The adjacent River Heritage Park was great as well. The evening light and music show with the Water Park (free admission) was worth the trip. The songs played were all big hits and were in some way related to the Shoals Area.

Room Tip: We requested a room with a pool view and it was wonderful. It would probably be a quieter stay to ch...

Nice facility, generally clean and tidy, a little dated. Don't pay extra for the river view unless you like to look at the drier side of the dam. The bedding was nice, but the AC was weak. There were so many lounge chairs crowded around the pool you could barely walk around, but they were needed for the number of people as it was very crowded. The outdoor pool is nice and geared for children with slides and fountains while the indoor pool where adults who want to swim might be able to actually swim laps was locked and would not open with the key provided. At night they placed a movie screen on the lawn and blasted a movie outside our room. Most disappointingly the place seems to attract a selfish clientele. It took nearly a half hour to check in because the room I booked had not been vacated by the previous occupant so I had to take something else. The portico was blocked to traffic by a guest that had checked out but needed to take her clothes one by one and hang them on a rack in the back of her SUV before she could leave, and she had a lot of clothes. Some elderly guests who shuffled when they walked wanted to get their luggage into the hotel and when the valet asked if they wanted him to bring their car up they jumped down his throat about how they did not want to lose their good parking spot after which he very graciously got a cart and went out into the lot to the help them unload their car and the whole time he was trying to bring in their luggage in they griped at him. Is the upper parking lot too small? When we arrived in the afternoon there were spaces available, but in the morning when we left there were cars squeezed in everywhere along curbs blocking parked cars in their spaces even though there is plenty of parking in the lower lot. I had been looking forward to staying here, but it was very disappointing.

My family and have stayed at this hotel many, many times. Last year, we needed a quick mini vacation (to be budget friendly) and decided to stay here for the weekend. We LOVE so many things about this hotel!! The spa, for starters, is top notch in my opinion! Great services offered!! The pool is amazing...with sections great for young kids, and a water slide for older kids and adults. Also, has a bar at the pool area which was convenient. Also, the hotel restaurant is super! I highly recommend the shrimp and grits :)
Rooms are ALWAYS clean, beds are comfy. It doesn't get much better than the Florence Marriott!

Room Tip: I love the higher floors for the better view of the TVA Dam area.

Found this hotel looking for a connecting point between Civil War battlefield sites we visited, and it is a gem in the area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Offered an upgrade to a suite, which included a balcony overlooking the pool area. Unfortunately, this suite practically had the live music from the bar piped in; it came directly up the open foyer of the hotel lobby, and we could "enjoy" the yelling parts of the songs until about 10pm. We were there on a weekday, it goes later on the weekends.

Not feeling like getting cleaned up for the 360 restaurant (which sounded cool with the revolving and all), we opted for Swampers restaurant. I liked that our awesome server gave an actual opinion about the food, and offered to let me sample the pimiento cheese before ordering the BLT that came with the pimiento, fried green tomato, and bacon. The cheese was better in the sandwich, which was unusual and tasty. The gin mojito was super yummy, loaded with mint.

Room was large, comfortable, good bed, roomy bathroom with separate tub and shower. Wrote in 1/2 & 1/2 on the room service card for breakfast (who puts skim milk in coffee?), and got it, along with the kid's menu breakfast, which is never an option on those cards you hang on the door at night. Did not use the pool or workout facility. This hotel is in great shape, clean, modern, and friendly. It does have a convention center, which could impact the size of crowds for restaurants and such, but didn't seem to affect our stay. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

We were there for 3 nights and four days, Visiting friends. We had 2 queen beds on the third floor. The room was clean, no noise, amenity was ok. Beds and sheets were comfortable. We slept well. Water bottles were $4 each. We got some from a nearby market since we were there for several days and had 4 people in our group. Pool was smaller than the website picture, but very nice. Kids enjoyed it. Staffs there were very nice and helpful. To me, this was the most important thing. Staffs are very important when come to running a business. We were allowed to check in early. Awesome!! Breakfast selections were average. No one replenish the scramble eggs when we were there so got an omelet instead. Did not use spa or restaurant so cannot comment. Room had a small refrigerator. Near shopping mall and restaurants, and markets. About 5 minutes drive. Overall, nice stay. Excellent for kids during summer because of the pool. Would stay here again. Gave 4 for value because Of the price. We only use the pool once and we only use the hotel as a place to sleep. We were at our friends all day and only come back at night. Parking at night around 10 on the weekends is an issue. Would have to park at the bottom parking lot where tourist info. Is at and walk up stair. I dropped my wife and kids at the lobby and went to park the car. Not sure what's s there for kids to do in the winter. Water park nearby.
