“Nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

We were there for 3 nights and four days, Visiting friends. We had 2 queen beds on the third floor. The room was clean, no noise, amenity was ok. Beds and sheets were comfortable. We slept well. Water bottles were $4 each. We got some from a nearby market since we were there for several days and had 4 people in our group. Pool was smaller than the website picture, but very nice. Kids enjoyed it. Staffs there were very nice and helpful. To me, this was the most important thing. Staffs are very important when come to running a business. We were allowed to check in early. Awesome!! Breakfast selections were average. No one replenish the scramble eggs when we were there so got an omelet instead. Did not use spa or restaurant so cannot comment. Room had a small refrigerator. Near shopping mall and restaurants, and markets. About 5 minutes drive. Overall, nice stay. Excellent for kids during summer because of the pool. Would stay here again. Gave 4 for value because Of the price. We only use the pool once and we only use the hotel as a place to sleep. We were at our friends all day and only come back at night. Parking at night around 10 on the weekends is an issue. Would have to park at the bottom parking lot where tourist info. Is at and walk up stair. I dropped my wife and kids at the lobby and went to park the car. Not sure what's s there for kids to do in the winter. Water park nearby.

My husband and I spent Memorial Day here and for the most part it was great. The room was lovely and had a nice view. The Swampers Bar is fun with live music every night, although it did get a bit crowded after dinner. The breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were very good and a bit above "hotel food". We had a wonderful dinner at the 360 Grill which provided beautiful views, excellent service and superb food. The only problem with our entire experience was the swimming pool---it was so over crowded there was nowhere to sit. People were stuck with putting towels on patches of grass. I suggest the hotel use some of the available land to expand the area around the pool, or better yet-- build an "adults only" pool.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a view, but he higher floors are better.

Went via high speed boat from Pickwick Damn to the Florence Marina where we had a killer lunch! The boys at the Marriott picked us up in a brand new Honda Odyssey and drove to easy check in... Best Hotel in North Alabama if not the entire state! Great service, clean rooms, great family fun pool (even water slide), and a wicked spa area! This is a real find! Great 360 revolving restaurant with unreal views and check out live music at Swampers Bar..... We had fun!

Excellent choice in the area. I almost felt like I was on a Caribbean holiday as the pool and entertainment are on par with those type of resorts. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. The bedding and décor did seem a bit out of season as it had a Christmas flair to it. I did enjoy having a balcony to enjoy the evening breeze and listen to the music coming from the pool area.

My husband and I travel to Muscle Shoals, AL to visit family every few years for a birthday, graduation or holiday. We choose the Marriott Shoals Hotel & Spa because it is a little piece of serenity tucked away in an otherwise very small and slow paced town. We enjoy spending time at the pool which is perfect for both kids and adults. The younger generations slid happily down the waterfall slide while our 21 and over family members sipped away at the poolside bar. Food is a tad pricey, including the breakfast buffet. Live music around the pool and each night in the lounge is a bonus. Ask for van service to local restaurants or for free to the golf course. Looking forward to staying here during future family trips to the Shoals!

Rooms are spacious and have a balcony overlooking the pool and the Tennessee River. Even though it was a bit chilly for swimming while we were there, some kids could not resist, and they were having a great time. From our room, the restaurant below with patio seating looked quite inviting, but when we went down we discovered that the patio is a smoking area. They graciously moved us inside, but it was a disappointment to be smoked out. After dinner we went up to the 360 restaurant and enjoyed a drink and the rotating view.

We were driving the Natchez Trace Parkway, and the Shoals were about 20 miles from there. I felt it was worth the side trip. While we were in Florence, we also enjoyed visiting the Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian house.

My husband and children took me to the shoals for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. We had a really nice time. The rooms are great & all have balconies overlooking the pool & Wilson Dam, comfy beds, big bathroom w/a tub & seperate shower and Bath & Body Works toiletries. The pool area was just completely awesome. My children spent most of our trip in the water. The only not so good thing about our trip was food, we ate out by the pool which wasnice but the food tasted like cafeteria food not 4 star hotel food. We went to the 360 Grille for drinks & to let the kids enjoy the view which was nice, but after our yucky lunch we drove about 2 miles into town for the rest of our meals(there are all of your typical chain restaurants). Our overall experience was a great one.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor for the best view of the dam lake & river.
