This Marriott Shoals in-hotel restaurant is the cheaper of the resort's 2 dining choices, when compared to the tower-top 360' Grille overlooking the TN River valley. Had both lunch & dinner here on Saturday of our wknd stay. Have previously had breakfast buffet, which was above average. The lounge is the place to be for lunch, w/ multiple nooks, all w/ comfy seating, nearby flat screens, & full drink & menu service. Lunch was astounding. Had 2 frozen girly drinks, w/ the sweet peach perfectly offsetting the tanginess of the tequila in the margarita. Then dined on a scrumptious white cheddar pimento cheese BLT, w/ fried green tomatoes & my alternative to the menu choice of marble rye. This was paired w/ crispy & light sweet potato fries. My app was a good & hearty but not fantastic gumbo of chx & local sausage. Wasn't that hungry by dinnertime @ 8, but managed to down a couple of adequate sides (cheese grits & mashed ginger sweet potatoes) along w/ a couple of near-perfect dirty Stoli martinis. My Dad's house salad looked fantastic from across the table & received high marks from him. Although occupied by a class reunion this night, the seating for the grill usually includes the outdoor but enclosed (in winter) terrace, complete w/ more couch seating & nightly open fire hearths, overlooking the large pool complex & the TN River.
