Just returned from our family trip to the gulf coast. After reading other reviews I decided to take a chance on this small one. Let me first say that before booking I double checked that we could bring our two small pomeranians and was told it was okay. Upon check-in the owner lady (family owned and run) was very rude, while filling out my card which specifically gives the option of pets or no pets, she looked over my shoulder and stated very rudely "do you know we do not accept pets?" when I explained that I was told they did, she became even more rude and stated " well its a 25 dollar fee per night." Well, I have no problem paying the fee (although it seemed way to high for two very small dogs but was fine). My issue was do you or don't you accept pets? It very clearly states on the registration that you can and also online, do you have a policy or not? Obviously if you have a pet fee then you DO accept pets. Anyway, she was our first impression and not a great start to our vacation. We had three adults and a toddler in our room and she provided us with two towels, we had to constantly return to the office to get more. Her husband was the only bright spot in the service, he was helpful, cheerful, and even opened our door when we were locked out. One other draw back is the key, old fashioned and we only had one. Door must be locked from inside to leave. Absolutely no amenities, no microwave ( which was a huge drawback as we ate at several fabulous restaurants and had lots of leftovers) and no way to reheat, not even in the office, my husband finally took his steak to them and asked to have it heated and the kind husband took it in back to their living area! Lol I can say the room was remodeled and clean, beds are small but ok as far as comfort, outside is a little rundown and in need of paint but gets a lot of salt air I'm sure. In my opinion it was way over priced for the accommodations. We paid over 500 dollars for three nights, after the pet fees and the best thing they offer is the location. The park and pier across the street is just breathtaking and the city of Fairhope is an idealic little town that takes you back to the "good ole' days" nice and friendly people adorable well kept homes, and a view you would never grow tired of. We would retire here for sure! Over all if you don't mind not having any amenities besides an over priced soda machine, and are willing to take your chances if you bring pets, and are aware of the owners rudeness (wife) then for the location alone it was worth it. Not too many other options in Fairhope, and some excellent restaurants within walking then by all means stay here. Otherwise next time we will stay in ocean springs which is equally beautiful with many more hotel options right on the beach.
We stayed on the top floor and the view is breathtaking, although slightly obstructed by the huge Am...
