We were travelling to Fairhope to see family, and found the Point Clear Cottages on Tripadvisor and read the reviews. We were a bit apprehensive, as we didn't think anyplace could be as good as it sounds. We were wrong...the Point Clear Cottages was everything that was said about it and more. We stayed in the Pelican's Rest for two nights and were amazed at the size, spotless cleanliness, and comfort of these accomodations. There was even Ice Cream in the Freezer wainting for us! The third night we moved into the Master bedroom in the house and, while not as large, the room was very comfortable, with a big bed and large bathroom. We didn't get to see the cottage, but talking with folks who were staying there, they give it the highest marks. Breakfast every morning is a feast! Joanne's biscuits are outstanding, and the omlets are to die for. (Here's a tip...if you don't have at least two, she'll think you don't like them!) Breakfast was big enough to carry you through the day. We also enjoyed the gardens and the pier, where we sat out at sunset, felt the cool breeze, and enjoyed a glass of wine. I'm not big on B&B's, but Robert Berglin and his staff made me a believer. Robert truely makes you feel welcome, and like one of the family. If you are in Fairhope, and don't stay at the Point Clear Cottages, you are missing a real treat and an experience that you will remember. The only downside is that eventually, you have to leave! This is the only place we will stay in Fairhope, and we will definitely be back.
