My fiance and I were in Point Clear for a family (his) wedding. I felt like the bride at Point Clear Cottages, however and hope that I am as relaxed, comfortable and well taken care of on my own honeymoon! I slept like a baby for the first time in quite a while as the bed was amazingly comfortable, as was the rest of the room. Perhaps the highlight for us, however, was the amazing surroundings. There is a phenomenal view of and access to Mobile Bay. This is no hotel room where your single window won't open: the multitude of windows allow for as much (or as little with the shutters shut) light and breeze as you would want. The private, spacious pier, hammock , kayaks and a very clean well kept hot tub were all readily accessible and were a pleasant surprise to me and so very appreciated. Robert is a sweet, conscientious host, absolutely respectful of guest privacy yet with his own open door policy, whose apparent idea of a mess is some leaves in the yard after a windy night! We were very busy with family events, but there is no doubt in my mind that if we were in need of anything, Robert would make it happen: he's truly just that kind of person. And, perhaps I am showing my own ignorance about southern Alabama, but I certainly did not expect to be less than a couple of miles to some great eating establishments, both low key and high end. I am glad that family will not be moving away post honeymoon so we have a reason to go from Portland, OR to Fairhope and Point Clear Cottages again!
