We were evicted from our room by a very rude owner named Carol. We were surprised by someone beating on our door. When we opened it in alarm, she did not introduce herself, only stated that there had been a big mistake and we would have to move. We told her we had been placed in this room because the one we were promised when we made our reservation was already occupied. She blamed her staff for the problem.

Since we had been in the room several hours, had unpacked and my husband was in the midst of eating dinner, we offered to move if she would provide another room complimentary for all our trouble. She reacted in anger, threatened to charge us an additional amount for the room and slammed the door behind her.

Fortunately we found other accommodations at the Gulf Breeze Motel and moved there immediately where we were treated with courtesy and professionalism.

Lets just say this Mrs carol is wonderful we have been 4 times and always come back the food is wondeful and she packs a lunch for us everytime we go fishing.

If you plan to visit Dauphin Island, you will find very limited accommodations. I suggest that you DO NOT book a room at the Dauphin House Bed and Breakfast. Our family made the 13 hour trip to Dauphin Island from Indiana for a friend's wedding on the beach. We made accommodations (so we thought) at Dauphin House. When we arrived, exhausted from the road, there was no one at the bed and breakfast to greet us. Furthermore, they did not leave us keys to our two reserved rooms, only a phone number. We called the number only to discover that they claimed not to have us in the book of reservations, though we had spoken to them over a month and a half in advance. The woman said not to worry, that we could stay in two of the rooms for the night, but we would have to change rooms the next afternoon. Well, when we woke up we were pretty much thrown out of the Dauphin House. Did I mention we had a six month old baby with us??????? I would be less angry if my infant son were not with us, but how can anyone throw a family with a young child out? Who knows!! Not only was the woman unapologetic, but she did not even give us any clue of where to start looking for accommodations. Fortunately, after hours of searching, we found the last two rooms at the Gulf Breeze Motel. We really enjoyed the Gulf Breeze. It is across the street from the beach and the people working there were very friendly, I can't say that about the Dauphin House Bed and Breakfast.
