Absolutely the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. You would think that they would want business after the storms over the past couple of years, but the waitresses acted like they could care less whether we were there or not. As we came in, a waitress at the entrance just told us to sit where we liked, which is fine with me, but then we didn't even get a menu for a while, and there were only two other tables occupied and they were already eating. It was around 3:30 on a Tuesday afternoon, so it wasn't busy at all. While my gentleman friend was in the restroom, a girl came out to wipe tables and saw me sitting there twiddling my thumbs and asked me if we had been given a menu, and I said no. The menus finally came as my friend returned to the table and drink orders were taken....water for him and iced tea for me. We perused the menu and made up our minds, and we were about to order when the waitress told us they had no slaw and no salad! She said the truck had not come yet. Now WHY couldn't she (they) have told us that when we came in the door or even before we placed drink orders???!!! We politely said we needed a few more moments in that case. While she was gone, I discussed the situation with my friend, saying I didn't like the way we had been treated from the beginning, and with this added, I would like to go. And fortunately, he agreed. I told the waitress I would pay for the tea, but we would not be staying. Any other place would have said no charge (after all, it was their fault, regardless of the delivery situation, for not having the items and not telling us in the first place BEFORE we ordered), but not here. Of course they took the money for the tea, and we left. We then proceeded back up the road to Baudeans and had a very enjoyable dinner. Delicious shrimp and oysters! And very good service. They wanted people there! I'm also a Baldwin County girl and would highly recommend the restaurants on the Causeway (Ed's Seafood Shed, Original Oyster House, Beach House Grill, and Felix's Fish Camp - in that order, all good in their own way....I would also say the Blue Gill, but it has not yet reopened after the storm). These restaurants are all officially in Spanish Fort, but they are advertised as in Mobile.
