We went to Barnacle Bill's on three separate occasions during one week's visit. Service and food first time was great, which encouraged us to go again. Second visit was at a rush time, so we had to wait. That's fine, but the table we were shown to was not washed (it was sticky), the server was upset about something and took it out on us, and the food to ages to arrive. Third visit was at 3 p.m. Granted, it was summertime, but the restaurant was FULL of flies. We were seated at a table close to the swinging kitchen doors and were inundated (guess that's where the flies were coming from). Asked to be moved. Watched a succession of people be seated at the same table and either ask to be moved or flee in terror. Then one of the waitstaff came out with a flyswatter and started swinging it around, so no telling how many bug parts were thrown about the room. This time we left without eating.
There's a reason they sell shirts reading, "Food's great, service sucks!" They already know. However, since the storm took the late, great Seafood Galley ("Where we're always one server down!"), this is the main restaurant so they can afford to glory in their bad rep.
