“Awesome Place for Relaxation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

This lodge is extremely, EXTREMELY clean and modern. Everything from the floors, to the large bathtubs, to the sheets, etc are new, clean and in great condition. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are huge! The staff are friendly and accommodating. The walls are very, very, veeeeery thin. We heard another guest snoring from our room like he was in our room!! The "breakfast" which consists of juice, coffee, yogurt and individually wrapped danishes (which can be warmed by microwave) is served right next to a guest room which is very loud. The restaurant on site, "Uncle Nick's Smokehouse" is owned by the brother who owns this lodge. The food was no good (in my opinion), but the view of the lake was beautiful. Would recommend "Oskars" for food. This area is extremely high class and most of the houses around here are million dollar homes. This was by far one of the most relaxing vacations we have taken and this is the place to come to do nothing!

Room Tip: Request not to stay in the room by the breakfast stand.

We had a group of 50 women come and rented the entire Lodge for two nights. Richard and his wife could not have been more accommodating. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the beds were wonderfully comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. The conference center catered our meals and the food, especially dinner, was fabulous! It had the feeling of a mountain cabin, but in a cozy way. We loved our stay and would definitely come again. Also, it was reasonably priced.

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the suites. It was quiet.

My company rented out the entire lodge for a Corporate meeting. The accomodations were perfect - got rave reviews from all my employees - a nice Lodge feel with all the modern conveniences and the rooms were beautifully maintained. The owners provided outstanding service. They were always ready to help us with anything we needed. I had such wonderful experience that I made reservations for a family trip the next week.

Richard, the owner, was very helpful and friendly upon arrival for our Labor Day weekend stay. As others have mentioned, this is a small lodge. There is a nice, small pool and hottub on the property and a small boatramp if you wish to launch a small boat. The rooms are very clean. The beds are comfortable and the room makes the "lake lodge" experience authentic. There is a nice flat screen TV with cable channels in the room. Some of our family stayed in a King Suite, and upgrading provides a full kitchen with all provisions, a living area with TV, bar seating, two bedrooms and two baths. There is a nice balcony, although the view to the lake is somewhat obstructed due to other buildings nearby. Free wireless internet service is included, and my speedtest found a blazing 21 Mbps download speed. The pool and hottub were clean and very enjoyable. The included continental breakfast consists of packaged pastries, coffee and juices. The barbeque restaurant next door is worth a visit, and there is a full-service marina a quarter mile down the road. Because the lodge is located on Hwy 49, there is some road noise from passing cars. But overall, things are fairly quiet.

You will enjoy your stay here. The location on Lake Martin is convenient, and all but the pickiest of travelers will find Creekside a great place to spend a relaxing vacation.

Room Tip: Rooms away from Hwy 49 will be quieter, but rooms closer to the Hwy overlook the pool.

We stayed at Creekside Lodge near Lake Martin for the Labor Day holiday and loved it. it's a small place, only about 25 rooms, but very nice, modern and comfortable. It has a wonderful "lodge" feel with all the modern amenities. The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast. Don't plan to eat unless you like prepackaged sweet rolls and juice. They really miss the boat on by not offering a good breakfast which I would have paid for because nothing is close by. What better way to wake up in a lodge then smelling eggs, bacon and pancakes cooking! I rate the Lodge an "excellent" but the pitiful continental breakfast brings the rating down.

Room Tip: Stay away from the road side of the building

Our Family (5 Siblings) has a home on Lake Martin and 3 of us stayed at Creekside Lodge for a family reunion on Memorial Day weekend. We had such an enjoyable stay that we all made reservations for the same time next year. The husband & wife who own it are so nice and made us feel right at home. The room is large, the beds are great, and the lobby and center fireplace make you feel like you're in a lodge in the mountains - I'd love to come back in the winter!
As a side, I think the person who wrote a real negative reviw was mean and vindictive and I urge all who read the reviews to trash that one. There is no way that you wouldn't enjoy your stay here and our family plans to return at least once a year!

Rooms were clean and comfortable and quiet. Pool was smallish but clean and there was a hot tube we didn't use. Woman who checked us in was friendly and had good food rec. Esp for the money I give the place 2 thumbs up!
