Stayed for three-day weekend. Hotel was clean and comfortable; staff was friendly and courteous. Pool was open, clean and heated. Fitness Room included weight training and cardio equipment, all in working order. Breakfast in the morning included a few hot selections. Located within walking distance of a dozen restaraunts, and minutes from downtown Cullman (30-40 minutes from Huntsville and Birmingham). Overall, very positive experience- will definitely return.

Stayed in room 200 on 08-12-05, the room is larger than most and everything was great. Expanded breakfast included eggs and bisquits and gravy in addition to most HI offerings. Pool was crowded but hotel was close to capacity. Here's a tip! Ruby Tuesday delivers to this location for a pleasent change to other deliveries.

On the evening of Aug. 2, 2002 my husband and I checked into this hotel. We arrived in the middle of a bad lightening storm. Asking for a queen size bed, we were able to get the handicap suite. I went up to the room which was very nice & spacious being a new hotel. In the room next door was two couples who were being very loud. After the rain abated, we decided to go and get our luggage. On the way back inside, we stopped by the front desk and asked the staff to please ask the people in the room upstairs to quiet down just a bit. They did and all was well for the night. A comfortable bed and good nights sleep was had by the both of us.
In the morning, my husband went downstairs just before 9:00 am and came back to the room with coffee in hand but said all they had to eat at that point was white bread for toast & dry cereal, some coffee and juice. They advertised the EXPANDED continential breakfast was served from 6:30-9:30 am. so where was the food? In the meantime I decided to take my shower. I got in, washed my hair and sat down on the handicap stool provided in the tub to shave my legs, turned around to make sure it was stable. Feeling it was, I sat down on it. When I did, the whole thing collapsed and cracked the wall it was attached to with me falling on the left side of my back and my two feet going towards the drain of the tub. There were two screws near the drain also from the seat part coming loose. Apparently someone failed to test the apparatus to make sure it was safe for their guests. If it was not meant to be sat upon, then there should have been a sign up letting the guests know that fact.
After I got out and dressed, my husband called the front desk and a woman told him that the maintainance man would be up within 5 minutes. After about 10 minutes, a lady by the name of Michelle arrived in our room and checked out the situation. She saw clearly that the seat had not been properly installed and had it have happened to an older/handicapped or crippled person, the situation could have been much worse. Also, I showed her what appeared to be blood on the bathroom floor that I found in the morning in two places and the hair dryer would not work unless you held the one button on the wall down the whole time you were drying your hair to keep it going. We were still charged for the room although a half price amount. I do not believe this situation was handled in the best way it could have been as there was no accident form filled out. The reason I am writing this is because I want everyone who may sit upon a unit like the one in this room to please check it out. The seat should have had a brace on the bottom of it as the tub unit curved and the seat bottom did not sit flat upon the base as I found out the hard way. Not a good experience at all in this hotel!!!!
