The good:
The posada is in a good location and across from art galleries. They have friendly bilingual staff. The breakfast is very good.

The bad:
The bed was hard and uncomfortable. This posada has hardwood floors throughout the house. Needless to say, the noise level was very loud and disturbing. So, be ready to be woken up by walking, talking, door-slamming, and floor-creaking.

I highly recommend a stay at the Pousada dos Quatro Cantos. The Pousada is located in an absolutely exquisite converted old mansion, with amazing architectural details and views. The staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful-- Sheila at the front desk is in particular very gracious, and was quite efficient in assisting us with trips and tour advice. The rooms are spacious, airy and clean. Food is fresh, tasty and filling. The location is perfect--on an absolutely lovely street in the heart of Olinda, which is a gem of a town. I can't endorse the Pousada highly enough! I stayed there for a week and will definitely be back at the Pousada if I ever return to Brazil.
