The first thing good is about its nearness to Kolkatta..just 40 min drive from the airport...even though the rpoads are very narrow.
The second thing which strikes is green every in the hotel campus...quite a big campus...even from the gate to the building is quite a distance.

The lobby is quite good and large for a hotel of this size. The rooms good but nothing to rave about. The room amnities are so so....nothing to talk about.

The room service was efficient.
The Bengali Buffet lunch was quite decent...the fritters( written Bhajjiya) especially the Karela one was good.

Over all a satisfying experience

I stayed here for 2 nights with my family in the 2 bedroom suite. I went at the end of monsoon and it took approximately 1.5 hours from downtown Kolkata. The roads were full of potholes and was an excruciating journey. Hotel was packed with mostly corporate groups.

The room itself was huge, very well maintained and comfortable. Each room had an attached bathroom. The hall was large with a balcony overlooking the property. WIFI is not complimentary and instead a voucher is required to be purchased. The property itself is well maintained. However the service and food do not reflect the quality. The quality and variety of food was average definitely not a reflection of the resort itself. The service is average.

I tried the spa, which is supposedly famous, it was good but not worth the journey I had to bear. There's not much to do on the property itself and since its so far from the city you will have to find something to entertain yourself with. Its a good place to unwind and relax.

Overall for the price you pay I wouldnt recommend making the journey unless your main purpose is the wellness centre.

Very special everytime....!!!

I have been quite a frequent visitor to this place right from 2008, the time it was not a "Best Western Premier" but just Vedic Village. Most of my visits were official, primarily management meets courtesy the organization I work for and truly speaking we always looked forward to an event in this property for its sheer lavishness, excellent guest relationship and exotic cuisine's.
This time though I was much disappointed with both the maintenance & service. We were accommodated in one of the Eco Homes which is practically a grass sloped double room suite with a spacious living room, the issue up here was we found used undergarments of the last guests still in the bathroom, which gave us the idea of the poor cleaning job and hygiene. Over the two days of stay didn't dare to use the pool as the water was visibly muddy.
The food was good as usual, the breakfast was lavish and sumptuous in variety. The staff was ok, but really miss the courteousness and every thing with a smile attitude of yesteryears.
The quality is slipping...

Room Tip: The resort rooms are better serviced, if you are with friends try the aqua villas

Stayed in Aqua home for 2 nights in vedic village in Sept'2011..it was very relaxing with big rooms, equally big bathrooms and best of all is a small private plung pool on the terrace...it was clean and well maintained property...ya for all this you have to pay a price of almost a 5 star rooms....if u r ok to spend that much it is a nice weekend gateway near Kolkata...worth going...
