“Beautified along the river side”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

Millenium Park is the perfect place for a family and friends to have a walk along the river side in the evening. The park is beautified with a wide variety of plants and trees. There are chairs by the bank of the river, one can spend good time sitting and gossiping. The boat ride from the park jetty is a great experience. Vivida Cruises takes you in the river for a 30-40 min boat ride. The beautifully lighted Second Hooghly Bridge and Howrah Bridge appears fantastic from the boat. The Princep Ghat and the bank of the river appears very beautiful from the boat.

“Nice place to spend couple of hours”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Millenium Park is situated near the Babughat on the banks of river Ganga. It is nice place to spend couple of hours with your family. The place does not offer much but couple of hours in front of Ganga with friends and that too at very minimum entry fee is itself a good option. You can see small fishing boats and launches passing by and the evening atmosphere with sun setting is quite amazing. There is also few rides available for children but you will have to pay for such rides apart from entry fees.
But try to come out of the park before it is totally dark as it becomes lover's paradise as some one has already mentioned in his review. Toilets are also not clean and try to avoid them unless it is absolutely necessary. Otherwise park is clean with police roaming around. Foods available are ok and not that costly. Over all the park deserve 4 stars rating!

“Lovers' Paradise, Not for families”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

This park, on the banks of the Hooghly, was meant for families. Accordingly, joy rides were installed by people who got the franchise. Food stalls were put up by people who paid huge rent. The park was crafted, landscaped and created by the government. But in the end, it has been taken over by two class of people - young couples who come here to steal some moments of intimacy and those who come to gawk at these young couples. In the process, the family crowd has given the park a go by.

The park itself is good, divided in two sections. There is ample sitting arrangement in its neat rows of landscaped gardens. The sunset view in the western sky towards Howrah is excellent. Both the Howrah bridge and the Vidyasagar Setu in the distance give it a majestic feeling. The place is cleaner than many other parks in Kolkata.

But that about it. The rides have few takers. The food stalls serve inferior food at outrageous prices. The couples get too steamy at times. And the gawkers get too lewd.

You can spend some time here for the view, but it will not be quality time for sure.
