1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

We reserved 3 rooms but canceled 2 rooms while check in and shifted to other hotel. And on the 2nd day 3 rd rooms was also canceled. Rooms were small, not clean, smelly and over priced. There isn't fixed charge for the rooms. We paid 3000 rupees/ night and my friends paid 2100 rupees/ night. Hotel staffs are very rude and not friendly at all.

As per the location of the hotel , the rates and the service is average. The rooms are really small but are neat and tidy. The service is good but can be much better. I was really pissed of by there breakfast spread . Though complimentary , you can find a good buffet breakfast in any other hotel in this range but here they stick to 3-4 items max. I would suggest to look for any other hotel in the same budget , keeping this as a 2nd option in mind.

Well this is world's most pathetic hotel I have ever been into, they have no class though they will try to influence you by sayin that we will provide you this and that. My mistake was I went with the words and made the payment without seeing the room. Once the payment was made and suddenly their attitude changed and from important guest I became an ordinary guest.

Rooms are so pathetic that you can't even compare it with any third class lodge and the staffs are so ill mannered that sometimes you will love to slap them.

In one word horrible hotel with worst management.

Luck of the dice. I tried something new on this trip to a city i had not visited before.
Took a late flight from Bangkok and checked into this hotel on word of mouth recommendation.

The reception tried to offer me a higher than usual rack rate. Price was steep and i managed to negotiate a higher class of room at a lower rate. Said that they were full on the next day and had to choose a lower room for the following day. I paid for one night.

Room was very mediocre for the price. TV was not working properly and bathroom smelled a bit. Was told at the reception that Wifi was available but then once i reached the room was informed that it was extra. Negotiated to a complimentary one day access and was handed a Tata Indicom Wifi card which worked for like 45 mins at terrible speed.

Needed an adapter for the mobile charger and Laptop and said that they had only one and was with another guest.

Figured out the next day that since this was close to Park street, location being the one reason for this hotel popularity. You get better deals and service in the area if you are willing to scout around.

Kindly refrain from staying here cos its not value for money, poor service and very bad room

Most of the mid ranged hotels in Kolkata are generally attractive from the outside but the interiors tell a different story. Hotel VIP International has good interiors to supplement its pleasant exteriors. The best thing about this hotel is that the rooms- though small- are clean and well furnished. The hotel interior is acceptably clean and service is generally good. The most distinguishing aspect of this hotel is its wonderful location. Whether you are a business traveller or travelling with family, you will be close to the major attractions of the city if you stay here. Recommended as long as you are not too fussy about sleep quality and room sizes.

Room Tip: Go for a deluxe road facing room with windows.

I have been to many hotels ...however this has been my worst experience.. Starting from the moment I entered the rooms,,, The rooms are congested and feels suffocated instantly.. Service is pathetic and the staffs are always on the lookout for tips... Breakfast Buffet is just for the sake of supplementing with some poor quality food... The might guy who sits in the reception is full of attitude with no knowledge of hospitality...and availing the hotel transportation could be the worst mistake as they try to overcharge all the time.. its totally no value for money...My personal advise for those who really seek a comfortable and wonderful stay is just avoid this PATHETIC Hotel.
