I am traveling solo in Asia to experience and photograph the culture. I choose Kolkata at the suggestion of a friend who also suggested the Oberoi Grand as it is in a great central location for seeing the city and walking around. My stay at the hotel was memorable for the warm friendly service and wonderful food. The head chef suggested meals and cooked according to my dietary restrictions, as I am allergic to dairy. The restaurant manager made certain I was served coffee, fruit and some sweets at 4:30 or 5 AM in my room before my morning photographic outings. The entire staff truly made me feel special making my work for the eight days I was there so much easier. When I return to Kolkata, I will look forward to seeing the city and staying at the Grand.
