It takes a while to find Kewpie’s in the warren of tiny, congested lanes and by-lanes of Calcutta. The incessant honking of the city’s anarchic traffic is banished once you step inside the restaurant. The quiet and very clean interior is only the first of the things that is in store for you. The staff are super-friendly and will advise you on what to order without pushing anything on the menu.
And then there is the food. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious and it’s difficult to suggest anything in particular. Each time I go there a favourite dish has to compete with something I haven’t tried before.
If you haven’t eaten at Kewpie’s then you haven’t experienced the glory of Bengali cuisine.
