“You simply can't afford to miss this.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

To all those photographers with fancy SLRs and all those nature/solitude lovers, this is the best place to fill up your camera's memory card. The ropeway starts near St.Joseph's, Darjeeling and goes all the way down near Singtam Tea Estate. The total duration of a round trip is around 40 minutes. The view from the ropeway car is simply out-of-this-world. Although the ropeway has a tragic history, the recent renovations have ensure good safety measures and well behaved staff. The tickets are very under-priced for an eye treat like this. Include this in your intinerary for sure!

“Wow this is Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

I can say this is the best Ropeway for scenic view in the country.Marvelous and spectacular views greet us within moments of the journey. After a while, excepting the sounds of Birds and insects with views of tea plantations and Mountains,no word can explain this.

Its just Wonderful

“Cable car ride - Must do”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

May 7-9, 2013

You need a vehicle to reach to the starting point. Vehicles reach right upto the starting point.

Ticket is Rs 150 per head, but worth it.

Its 20 min down ride and you come out to a place, where there is nothing much to do, just take some pictures, have some hot maggie and tea, basically relax for half an hour.. This place has huge potential to be developement - somebody please open a food court there & also provide for hygenic public toilets..

The view from the cable car is excellent - goes right up from green lush Tea gardens..

Return is 20 min..

6 people can fit in one cable car.

Ticket sale closes at 2:30pm, and last ride time to come up is at 4:00pm.

There can be large queues, so plan accordingly.

We went right at 2:30pm, were probably the last few to take tickets, but positive point was that there was no queue then, we came up by the last cable car at 4:00pm, and only 4 of us. So, it turned out to be good to reach late!

“great views and experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

We went on the ropeway which takes you over and gives you a bird's eye view of the tea gardens and the mountains in the background. The ride was around 20*25 mins each way and most enjoyable.
