“Crowded place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

Darjeeling does not have one tea garden, it has several. So this depends on where your guide takes you. Most places are pretty crowded though. Some have little tea shops in front of them where you can sip sample teas & later buy them if you wish.

“must visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

Tea gardens look amazingly beautiful with their unending slopes of tea plantations and curved paths. It's a great sight plus you can buy and drink some of the finest teas. You can't go much downhill because it's too steep but the scenery is definitely worth a visit

“Disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

If you really want to experience a tea garden, head out of Darjeeling... there are tonnes of tea estates outskirts. The one in Darjeeling which the tour operators take you to is really disappointing to the core. You cant really think of spending time here :(

“Educational”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

An educational panorama of the stepped landscape for cultivation of tea. Hats off to the fit workers who toil hard so that I can enjoy my cup of tea. I bow to you.

“Darjeeling is synonymous to tea”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

You cannot leave Darjeeling without tea estates and gardens. There are stalls around the tea garden marked with numbers where you can taste different types of tea for a price and also buy the one you like. Down the hill you can click pictures in the estate and also dress in the traditional dress for Rs 40. It is an experience in itself, don't miss it!
