If we want to visit chennai city center or any other place in chennai we have to come by bus or Train or Airplane. Local transportation from this place is anywhere in the ctiy center is a big problem. It may be solved when they complete metro transport system.
I arrived at chennai domestic airport from Tuticorin. My daughter jeyasakthi is prefers to travel by plane instead of Train from Tuticorin., She was enjoying her first flight experience. When we came out of the arrival hall, lots of touts are standing in front of the arrival gate. Theyare keep on telling different rates for visiting the citi center. it starts from Rs. 600 to 750 . WE keep on walking towards west with small luggage. At that time, one taxi cab just entered that area. We just entered in his cab. He was asking only rs.450 He told me some tips for taxi fare. The brokers are negotiate and collect high tariff from the passengers. They will take minimum 250 rs as their broker fees. The brokers will will give only 400 rs to the cab guy. If we come out little for from the arrival gate we will get good bargain. we have to escape from this brokers. You can see this kind of brokers from railway station and bus stand also . if you have small luggage you can walk little bit and get a bargain taxi or auto. I have same experience from central station to egmore. The brokeres were asking 100 rs and I paid 60 rs to the auto guy. This tip may be useful for fellow passengers.
