“Mollywood Tour”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2011

The attraction is that the property belongs to the one and only Rajinikanth. The decor of the rooms, restaurant and coffee shop is typical South Indian film style. It is dark with spotlights. One wall contains a series of paintings of the great man. However the rest of the decor is very gaudy and irritating. In spite of being an old Hotel the rooms are cramped and once again decorated like a South Indian film set. Though the service is poor, the staff is polite and soft-spoken.The food is good.on the whole the experience is pretty average. The only advantage is that you can boast with your friends that you stayed in a hotel which belongs to Rajnikanth. You don't have to tell the that he doesn't run the place.

Room Tip: Try the buffet it is good value for money

It is not a hotel it is a guest house they modify to for a hotel. How ever it was not done professional according to the hotel rules and regulation. NO STAR RATING. IT IS A ZERO STAR rating. If you like stay in a hotel with no sleep in the night because no sound protection wall. Morning breakfast is horrible waiting too long food to be prep and it is like drinking water ! ( not tasty at all)

Staff are very confused and not properly trained. They are getting low paid and they expect money just like the GM.

Room Tip: room are very small too much crowd room ..........money hungry hotel

This hotel is very near to the US consulate maybe 300 meters. Rooms are not very spacious and the lighting is little dim. Staff is very efficient and friendly. Restaurant is based on movie theme and looks quite different.

Complimentary breakfast is available which is good but expect too much. Parking space is ok.

The best part is the service and location. Overall I can say it is a good place to stay but can check other places in the anna salai area.

The Spring is owned by a popular Chennai movie-star. And it shows! Strangely coloured lobby, rooms, restaurants...leaves a weird sense in you. The coffee shop has one wall dedicated to his pictures, and the main restaurant is on a movie theme. Get the drift?

As a hotel, not bad a 3-star property. Rooms are tiny, and can be smelly and noisy. Seasoned travelers will know how to get out of these into better ones. Just make sure when you check in that everything is working - my TV remote, cable, toilet flush all had issues. Anyway, for a one night stay, not bad.

The restaurant has a very basic breakfast selection, and I did not try any other meal. The bar is good, large and well laid out. The selection is basic, and the service a bit over-friendly.

The hotel can do with a gym.

The good - efficient front office staff. Good room service food. Excellent location.

Light switches should have some legend. It is very difficult to find out which switch controls which lamp.
There should be a large cup (mug) for making morning tea.
