“Horrible Place to Visit if you want food. @ Anna Nagar”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

I went to their annanagar outlet, on this sunday afternoon and started writing this review immediately as soon as i got back home, so as to ensure that no one else goes through the harrowing experience. First the positives, they have tried making up the ambience and have kind of okayed it. However after this is all disaster. Waiting time at the restaurant is endless as they clearly have no idea as to which table is at which stage to be able to promise an approx time for waiting customers.

once I got inside, i realised the place was noisy and we could barely hear each other sitting right across the table. Although the menu was enterprising, we did not know that the journey would be as well.

We had ordered for a soup, a salad, Main course. To my surprise the salad which landed up looked like a left out dish from a main course. Then a part of the main course landed up. They forgot the soup and a side order too...The food was horrible, with the Chef clearly not knowing the basics of cooking....wish someone realised that...

Worse, the waiters were jumping, running and shouting around, clearly indicating the chaotic nature of the restaurant. No restaurant manager in sight, when his restaurant needed him the most.

Sad place, they even charged me for food that I did not have.

Given a chance, there are a lot of other restaurants nearby, and you should give this a miss. Trust me you will not miss anything.

“Interesting ambience, not much room, decent food.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012

We visited The Rock restaurant at Adyar. They botched up our reservation and had some confusion before seating us. The ambience is interesting with the forest theme but the lighting is very low and the space available even lower. It gives a claustrophobic dining experience. Being in the basement of the building doesn't help either. The menu has Indian, Chinese and Thai cuisine options. We tried all of them and found the food to be decent. Nothing extraordinary but not too bad either. The rates are also ok. Good to go at least once with kids.

“The Rock@ Anna Nagar”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2012

We decided to visit the branch at Anna Nagar for a family dinner. The ambience was pretty dim and in low light. At places there were tables but not enough lighting. The food is not so great to write home about. Except for the soup, which was kind of ok. we ordered from the Indian Menu and the food turned out to be more of a Chinese cuisine and taste. The indian preperation which was supposed to be spicy was sweet and sour and the other preparation which was supposed to be prepared with butter was also prepared in a sweet n sour manner. The heights of the dinner was the bill. We ordered for A butter naan and 4 butter rotis. The steward who took the order said its ok, we will make the request, but he did not tell us that a butter naan and a butter roti costs the same. THAT IS CHEATING. When the bill is presented, I am charged for 5 butter naans....WOW.... . I spoke to the Restaurant Manager i guess it had to be him( name witheld)..and he tells me its the same..wether u order for butter naan or butter roti. Since the butter roti is not mentioned on the menu, we will charge you as per the price of the butter naan.
I cleared the bill an left.

Advice: Before you check in to the restataurant...please be sure if u want to have Indian,Chinese or u want Indo-Chinese food

“Forest Ambiance hotel...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2011

They have a very good theme of forest. been there to their Velacherry branch and to Adyar branch. Both are good. and they have multi-cuisine where everyone can have their choice. The location is in a prime spot. Better to book in advance and go. Else we may need to wait.

“Mixed Feelings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2011

Went with my team members for a Lunch. Its kind of a theme restaurant but its limited to entrance only (Rocky-Cave kind of entrance with water fountain). Food was like ok-ok kind, not that much good. Ambience is good but the seating arrangement is like "Andhra Mess". In a small place they have put more number or tables in series. I'm sharing my observation and feeling about the restaurant below.

Veg:
Soup: Good
Starter: not good.
Main Course: Pulao & Dal Tadka was good but the mushroom curry was not good. (Papad and Raita even a dumbo can prepare well)

Non Veg:
Soup: Good
Starter: Excellent
Main Course: Mixed Feelings

Recommendation:

In a group: You can think of going to this hotel if more members are of Non-Veggie
For Couple: NO (Big No!!)
