Murugan Idly shop is a little bit of a odd place - because of their legacy and brand, you go in with high expectations, but get disappointed. The service is definitely not upto the mark for a 40 year old business. The food for the most part is good, but a little inconsistent - e.g. salt in the kuzhi paniyaram or the onion uthappam not evenly cooked. The thing that bugs me is that no item is a killer dish unlike say in Saravana Bhavan, where the sambar is outstanding all the time. Despite all this, MIS is a good place for reasonably priced above average south indian tiffin items
