“Deepali made us most welcome ih her family home and we really enjoyed the home cooking of Indian meals.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2009

Barwara Kothi was avery comfortable guesthouse for our stay in Jaipur and Deepali and her staff made us most welcome. The large bedroom with balcony was very comfortable with all the necessary facilities. It was interesting to hear about the family history and the house we were staying in. The location was excellent for our 2 days of sightseeing around Jaipur. We really enjoyed the evening meals which gave us a real taste of Indian cuisine.

We would recommend this an excellent place stay in Jaipur.

We had an exceptional satisfying stay at the Barwara Kothi in a Master Suite with a very friendly service and all amenities, which are necessary on a vacation trip.
We were surprised by the whole guesthouse with selcted stylish furniture.
We felt very comfortable and safe during the stay and will definitely come back, if our way leads us to Jaipur again.
The management under Mrs. Deepali Singh took always much care about our wishes.

Barwari Kothi was such a lovely place to stay. It was a B&B but in a house that belonged to the royal family of Rajastan! The staff were really helpful - espceially when we needed to flag down rickshaws to get into town (5 mins). Although the place is a little out of town an added bonus is that it is on a street where loads of weddings take place. We watched some of the prosessions each night which was great fun. Our room was large and nice and clean with lots of antique furniture - the air con was by the bed and a bit noisy though. Also, not to be missed is the shop Soma next door with fabulous hand printed home furnishings and kids clothes at really great (but fixed) prices.

We stayed here for a night on our way from Bikaner to Delhi. The place is a grand mansion turned into a hotel and which is immaculately maintained. It's located in Civil Lines so it's close to everything but in a very quiet locality. Deepali who runs the place was very friendly with advice about what to do, see, shop and eat. The room was spacious, well equipped, very clean and comfortable. They also throw in a simple but good breakfast and were kind enough to allow me to park my car in the driveway overnight. The staff are extremely responsive and it's a great place to base yourself as you explore Jaipur.

  • Liked — The clean and spacious rooms, cosy atmosphere
  • Disliked — Nothing

We stayed at the Barwara Kothi for three days recently in Jaipour and loved it.
Its a great little bed and breakfast place. Marbled floors, lovely chandeliars, classy, spacious and clean room and elegant furnishings all made it a great place in its price range.

Common areas were well designed and decorated and the owners went through a lot of paint o add small touches that made a diffeence such as a steareo system and a small library of books. The seating was comforatble with lovely throw pillows etc. The interior was also done keeping in mind the character of the house and had personal framed photographs, lovely oils and swords.

staff was friendly and solicitious. food was delicious. The place is really quite an oasis in the busy bustle of a city and is located on a very quiet street. the garden is lovely and has seating where you can relax. Will definately recommend on all fronts...

  • Liked — lovely rooms and personal touches
  • Disliked — not much really

This place is fantastic! It feels like if you stay in a nice, warm, friendly and pleasant family, where you really feel at home. It's a beautiful house, nice decorated with a lot of personal furniture and furnishing on the walls and in the general rooms, the dining-/sitting room. The rooms are big and with everything you need, good beds! Clean bathrooms, everything is very good taken care of. The staff is very polite, service is perfect. You also can make a phone-call in your own room, use internet in the office of the owner, in evening, let's do your laundry. It's just perfect and a great place to relax, to sit down and to enjoy a fantastic good meal and a good cup of coffee.

We want to recommand this place, when you like a small, cosy, place with a personal nuance, instead of a big, cool, unpersonal hotel !!

  • Liked — The peacefull and cosy equipment and very personal approaching and warm welcome!
  • Disliked — ?? Nothing
